Latest Real Madrid News: There is a new version of an old video in which Antonio Rudiger discusses Pepe playing for Real Madrid. The video shows the former Chelsea defender discussing his admiration for the Portuguese superstar player. He says that they should play together.
After the completion of his contract with Chelsea, Rudiger will make the move to Real Madrid on a free transfer. The defender has just signed a contract with the squad that won the Champions League. He will begin training with the rest of his new teammates in July.
The footage of Rudiger talking about Pepe in the past emerged online almost immediately after Real Madrid announced the signing of the player. When asked which defender in the history of football he would have most wanted to play beside, the German responded as follows:

Why did Rudiger decide to sign with Real Madrid instead of Chelsea?
Antonio Rudiger wanted very much to continue playing for Chelsea. But he was unable to get his contract renewed in time. The defender asserts that he waited a considerable amount of time before finalizing the agreement.
On the other hand, he had to decide since the club was under penalties imposed by the government of the UK and could not sign any players.
In an article in The Players’ Tribune, Rudiger stated: “Unfortunately, by the autumn of last year, my efforts to negotiate a new contract had already begun to become challenging. When you don’t get any news from the club between the months of August and January, the issue becomes more problematic. Business is business, after all. Following the first proposal, there was a considerable amount of time during which nothing was offered. You are aware that we are not robots, right? You are unable to wait for months given the amount of unpredictability around your future.
No one anticipated the penalties. But in the end, several other major clubs expressed interest. I was forced to make a choice. I will not elaborate more since, all commercial considerations aside, I do not have anything negative to say about this club. Always and forever, Chelsea will have a place in my heart. My heart will always belong in London.”

Both Real Madrid and Chelsea announced on Thursday that they have reached an agreement for the German international defender Antonio Rudiger to join Real Madrid on a free transfer after his contract with Premier League side Chelsea was allowed to expire.
The LaLiga champions have announced that the central defender Rudiger will remain with the club for the next four seasons. They have also said that a presentation ceremony will be arranged for him on June 20.
