Arsenal Newsnow: Arsenal Football Club didn’t have enough success in the English Premier League in the last few seasons. Despite their best efforts, they lacked the cutting edge to outsmart the opposition in the clutch moments of the game. As a result, they failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, which has been the same old story for them.
However, this time around, things have changed drastically. The youngsters have picked up the pace and the magic seems to be working from across quarters. Arsenal are currently on top of the EPL table with 69 points from 28 games (22 wins, 3 defeats and 3 draws). They still have eleven more games to play. It will be quite interesting to see how they go about their work in the remaining part of the season. Arsenal have some tough away fixtures left. The Gunners will have to play against Manchester City at Etihad, Newcastle United at St James’ Park and Liverpool at Anfield.
Arsenal are out of all other tournaments and they will be focusing pretty much on the Premier League now. The Gunners will lock horns with Leeds United at The Emirates on April 1, Saturday. Currently, the Gunners are just five points above the second-placed Manchester City in the ongoing Premier League campaign. Gabri Veiga is willing to join the Gunners as per reports
If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, then Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga is willing to join the Gunners. He is interested to play for Arsenal despite receiving interest from other clubs. Meanwhile, Faro de Vigo report that Napoli are ready to make their move for Veiga this summer.
Nonetheless, as per reports, the Gunners seem to be the ideal option for the Celta Vigo midfielder. In fact, Veiga and his team apparently reckon Mikel Arteta’s potential to nurture and develop youngsters will work quite well for the midfielder. However, it seems that Arsenal are more appealing to Veiga. It will be quite interesting to see what the future holds in store for the Celta Vigo midfielder. Earlier, Celta president Carlos Mourino added that they want to keep Veiga. He further echoed that it will be literally impossible owing to his release clause.
Mourino said, “We want to keep Gabri Veiga but it will be impossible due to his release clause. We don’t want to sell, but they are going to buy him from us. And we can’t do anything there. We know some of his offers and it is impossible to reach them. There are several teams behind Gabri. Real Madrid? They haven’t asked us, we don’t know if they will have called the player.
