Arsenal Transfer News: Wilfried Zaha prepared to leave Crystal Palace with the Gunners tipped to sign the forward on a free transfer in the summer of 2023.
Arsenal Transfer News: Wilfried Zaha operates as a forward for Premier League club Crystal Palace in the English Premier League and plays internationally for the Ivory Coast national team. For the record, the Zaha sneaked into Crystal Palace’s starting XI from their academy in 2010. Since then, he started to make waves by scoring goals when it mattered the most.
It is worth noting that the Ivory Cost player scored as many as 18 goals across all competitions in the first three seasons for Crystal Palace. Following the three seasons, he shifted his base to Premier League giants, Manchester United. The Ivory Coast-born made a switch to Man United for a feel of £10 million. In fact, he was the most expensive Crystal Palace player sold in that season.
Zaha spent most of his time warming the bench at Manchester United. He made only two appearances for the club and didn’t score any goals for the club. After struggling to get game time, he remained on loan at Crystal Palace until the end of the season. He played a big part in helping the Eagles return to the English Premier League.
The forward was sent on loan to Cardiff City in 2014 where he made 12 appearances for the club and went goalless. For the record, Zaha once again returned to Selhurst Park in August 2014 on a season-long loan. In the subsequent year, he rejoined the club permanently in 2015 and went on to become the club’s twelfth-highest goal scorer.

Zaha upped his ante to the next level in the last two and a half seasons for Crystal Palace. He has been one of the substantial players for the club in terms of leading the attack, scoring 32 goals for the club. Despite having age on his side, he has been delivering the goods for the team with his experience.
It would be quite interesting to see what happens in the summer transfer window. There will surely be potential incoming and outgoings at Arsenal Football Club. “We are talking about someone who has shown incredible loyalty to Crystal Palace,” said the former England international.
“It didn’t quite go to plan at Man United. I think it came a little bit too early for him. (But now) Zaha is ready. The Ivory Coast international has been Crystal Palace’s top scorer for a number of years now. It feels like it’s Zaha or nothing for Palace, and I don’t think that’s a healthy position for either of them to be in. They’ve got Eze and Olise who are ready to step up,” he further added.
