Jurgen Klopp had dropped Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson, Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo to the bench for the clash against Chelsea. There were some concerns regarding their fitness in that fixture. However, Robertson, Salah and Gakpo came off the bench in that fixture. This could mean positive things for Liverpool, ahead of the clash.

Klopp spoke in his presser and suggested that Van Dijk should be ready for this fixture. He said, “I think he will be ready for the weekend, yes.” To add to that, there could be another injury boost for the home side.

Spaniard, Thiago Alcantara, has been seen in training in recent times. The midfielder was unavailable since the 4th of February. He was out with a hip flexor problem. He could be available for this fixture if the need does arise. Lastly, Luis Diaz is training as well. But he may not be ready to take the pitch in this fixture. He will have to wait a big longer before he can actually make his return.

Naby Keita and Stefan Bajcetic are still missing, while Calvin Ramsay is out for the rest of the campaign. Further, there were no signs of Mo Salah, Diogo Jota or Joe Gomez in training pictures. This sparked a few doubts about their fitness as well.

Eddie Nketiah could be back in the squad as well. The striker was out with an injury and his return date was unknown. However, the latest sources suggest that he could be fit in time for this clash.

It is quite clear that Gabriel Jesus will be the first-choice. However, it is quite well-known by now, that Nketiah brings something more to the team. That is if the need does indeed arise. Let’s wait and watch!!
