Arsenal Newsnow: Despite Arsenal’s interest, Barcelona has no plans to sell Ferran Torres during the January transfer window
Arsenal Newsnow: Barcelona might retain their existing team together, according to Fabrizio Romano of Caught Offside. Therefore Ferran Torres is not up for sale in the January transfer window. Premier League leaders Arsenal has shown interest in the Spaniard. He is one of several players linked with a transfer away from Spotify Camp Nou.
This time last year, Barcelona’s president went all the way to lure him back to Spain from Manchester City. Thus, paying a hefty €55 million cost. Afterwards, it was reported that the club’s newly hired manager, Xavi, had personally demanded the signing of the winger, and the board had complied.
Arsenal Newsnow: About the report:
The attacking Barcelona player’s day has not gone as planned. He has fallen well behind the pack at Camp Nou. Torres has the versatility to play in a wide or centre position. But the presence of Raphinha, Ousmane Dembele and even Robert Lewandowski kept him primarily on the bench for the Catalans.
Recent rumours stated that Barcelona was eager to cut their losses and attempt to sell him in the January transfer window. Much of the need for the club remained financial as they continue to battle to balance their finances in light of various challenges behind the scenes.
Reports say that Tottenham is the most recent team to express interest. But before them, north London rivals Arsenal were eager. Mikel Arteta is in the market for offensive reinforcements and loves what Torres can contribute to his team. The Spaniard’s flexibility might be useful for the Gunners. They have used a fluid attacking approach this season.
Will Barcelona sell Ferran Torres?
Arsenal continues to seek Mykhaylo Mudryk this month. But, they are finding it challenging to persuade Shakhtar Donetsk to break ways with him. His high asking price is an issue, but if they cannot agree, Arteta can move the focus towards other players such as Torres.

Barcelona, though, is not interested in trading the winger or any other player from their present team in January. Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the idea. Romano stated, “Barcelona wish to maintain Ferran Torres; there are presently no discussions for him. They plan to retain the same roster until the conclusion of the season and then alter some players again in July.”
There has been speculation that Xavi wants to keep the present group together, which might stymie deals for players like Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay, Torres, and Franck Kessie. While Torres isn’t exactly lighting the world on fire this season, the club still hopes its €55 million investment will eventually pay off.
If Arsenal were to recruit Torres as a replacement for Mudryk, they may have to go elsewhere. It seems like the Spaniard will be staying in Barcelona for the foreseeable future. This may give him the peace of mind he needs to focus on getting back to form with the club.
