Arsenal Transfer News: The Gunners would want to reward Martin Odegaard for his stellar play by signing him to a new deal with a sizable raise
Arsenal Transfer News: Football Transfers reports that Arsenal is set to sign Martin Odegaard to a new long-term deal. The club in north London would want to keep their captain long-term. They have offered him a significant salary raise to reflect his elevated status on the team.
Mikel Arteta still talks about the six months Martin Odegaard spent on loan at Arsenal from January to June of 2021. The Norwegian hoped to be recalled by Real Madrid and given regular playing time. The arrival of Carlo Ancelotti, though, prompted the midfielder to reconsider.
Although Odegaard spent the next preseason with Real Madrid, Ancelotti made it obvious he was not a part of his plans. Whilst this was happening, Arsenal was standing by, hoping to entice the player back to the Emirates. They offered £30 million, and they accepted the offer.
Arsenal Transfer News; What’s the matter?
After seeing how much of an impact Odegaard has had on Arsenal, the cost seems like a steal. Arteta made him captain at the beginning of the season, making him the team’s focal point. The playmaking prodigy at age 24 is leading Arsenal to an eight-point lead in the Premier League.
After some sturdy shopping at the stores, Arteta is happy with his team. Now, north London is concerned about preserving the hub for the long haul. Arsenal has a bright future with this youthful squad. And Odegaard is the focal point of their current efforts.
Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes have already signed new contracts with Arsenal. The extension of Bukayo Saka’s stay has also been agreed upon in principle. William Saliba’s contract renewal is still in the works. In addition, Odegaard’s name is now included there.
According to reports, Real Madrid has no plans to re-sign Odegaard. But there’s always the chance that rival clubs may arrive with envy in their eyes. His attitude and personality have not shown any dissatisfaction. Furthermore, he has high hopes for his future with the Emirates.
Arsenal intends to reward their captain with a new seven-year deal that extends his current term until 2030 and increases his salary significantly. They want to express their gratitude by increasing his salary to a level commensurate with his status. The 24-year-old may potentially get a raise and become one of the highest-paid players on this squad as a result.

What’s next for Martin Odegaard?
There may be no way for Arsenal to extend Odegaard’s current contract through its expiration date in 2025. The Gunners, on the other hand, are hopeful of locking him up long-term and letting him steer the team into the next stage.
The 10 goals and six assists Odegaard has scored or assisted on this season have all come in the Premier League. Just the away match against Brentford this season has he missed from the league schedule. His squad now revolves around him, and he is a deadly weapon thanks to his consistent scoring.
During the current international break, Arsenal will be without Odegaard. He’ll be in charge as Norway competes in crucial qualifying rounds. Arsenal will get back in the championship hunt with a home game against Leeds United. The young playmaker, who is just 24, will want to make an impression and score some points.
