Neymar was re-signed by PSG from Barcelona in the summer of 2017 for a then-record amount of €222 million. The French club was serious about assembling a roster of A-list players with the hopes of competing for and winning the UEFA Champions League. Even Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi were able to join PSG. They haven’t managed to snag that coveted UCL trophy, however.
The Brazilian international has contributed to the field. However, he has been unable to achieve his goal of winning club football’s most prestigious honour. The 31-year-old has contributed to 35 goals in 29 games so far this season. Although his statistics are excellent, Neymar has not lived up to the expectations of his admirers.
Although he is under contract with the team until the summer of 2025, the former Barcelona attacker may be on the move next season. Neymar is in a tough position at PSG, where the supporters aren’t exactly rooting for him. The player himself does not seem enthusiastic about staying with the team. The 31-year-old’s future has become uncertain. However, Manchester United has surfaced as a possible destination.
