Trying to acquire Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic during the next January transfer window will not be simple for Arsenal
According to to Give Me Sport, Fabrizio Romano thinks it would be tough for Arsenal to complete a deal for Lazio player Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The Gunners have been in touch with the player’s representatives about a possible transfer. They want to take the necessary steps to bring the youngster to North London. Lazio wants €100 million for the Serb. But they aren’t likely to trade him in January.
Regardless of his current deal, Lazio president Claudio Lotito has maintained his insistence that the player cost somewhere around €100 million. Milinkovic-Savic has yet to sign new terms. His value may drop this summer if he does not.
Will Sergej Milinkovic-Savic move to the Emirates Stadium?
Even if Lazio hold on fourth place in Serie A is tenuous at best, the club is not willing to bargain in the midst of the season. They’ve slipped above Inter Milan into fourth place thanks to a stronger goal differential. But they need to increase that margin if they want to stay there.

Chelsea, Arsenal’s London rival, reportedly has Graham Potter on the lookout for a pair of midfielders to bolster his squad. Arsenal would have a difficult time convincing Lazio to trade one of their most treasured assets. The player is allegedly captivated by the Arsenal idea.
Romano said: “Milinkovic-Savic, Lazio don’t want to sell him in January, so I think it’s going to be really, really complicated. Let’s see in the summer because he has one year left on his contract, June 2024. So let’s see what’s going to happen. But for January, Lazio will try to keep the player at all costs.”
What’s next?
It’s unclear if the Gunners would wait until the summer, when his price may decrease, or whether they’ll pay a premium of roughly €100 million to push the midfielder in joining the club next month. Arsenal are still in touch with Milinkovic-Savic’s agent for the time being.
According to Sport through Calciomercato, Juventus is set on bringing in Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to replace Rabiot. Juventus fans have been fixated on the Lazio player. He has been one of the league’s best midfielders in recent years.
The situation in Italy’s capital is being continuously monitored, according to the source. If the Biancoceleste are unable to get the Serbian’s signature on a new deal before the summer transfer window opens, they may be forced to sell him.
