Given the turmoil at Juventus, Arsenal seem to be in pole position to sign Dusan Vlahovic
Calcio Mercato reports that Arsenal are in the lead to sign Dusan Vlahovic, whose future with Juventus is uncertain. Due to his club commitment and internal issues, the Turin giants may attempt to cash in on him in the next January transfer window.
What’s the report?
The rumors about Vlahovic’s personal life off the field have gotten him some media attention. Even though he has denied several media reports, he will be returning to Juventus, but under new terms. Arsenal is apparently in the lead for the services of the 22-year-old Serie A attacker, and Turin would be willing to sell.
When Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang canceled his contract with Arsenal in January, the Gunners were highly rumored to be interested in signing Vlahovic. Arsenal made strong efforts to get the Serbian, who Mikel Arteta deemed to be the club’s perfect striker.
Vlahovic finally settled on signing with Juventus and staying in Serie A after considerable discussion and controversy surrounding his agent. The change was successful at first. But his performance has declined since the start of the current season. Juve’s recent success without him suggests they may have made a pivotal choice.
Juventus is also being looked into for any financial malfeasance. They might use the money to help stabilize its financial predicament. As a result, the club may try to unload some of its star players in the forthcoming transfer windows, the report claims. Vlahovic is one of them.
Will Vlahovic come to Arsenal?
Arsenal, given their present plight, may want to pursue a transfer for Vlahovic. Because of Gabriel Jesus’ injury during the World Cup, they had to change their January goals. They had not planned to bring in a new forward in the next window. But if the Brazilian is out for an extended period of time, it might hurt their hopes of winning the Premier Legaue.
As far as we can tell, the Gunners are looking to upgrade their forward position. Mikel Arteta decided to sign Vlahovic in January of 2021 and may still be interested in the striker. The Serbian is expected to cost more than Arsenal’s apparently healthy £50 million transfer budget.
Vlahovic or any other striker would be extra for Arsenal, who hoped to add at least two players, including a winger and midfielder.
The information should be treated with caution for the time being due to the fact that it is just a rumour. Ideally, Arsenal’s interest would be piqued by Vlahovic’s availability. If the rumor is true, the Gunners would try to sign him once again.
