Sky Germany reports (via the Mail) that the German FA is interested in hiring Arsenal’s youth manager, Per Mertesacker, to replace Oliver Bierhoff, the club’s former sports director.
Their team is getting on in years. They don’t seem to have any promising new players on the horizon. Bierhoff, a legend in the world of football, lost his position because of the requests for a complete overhaul. Even Hansi Flick is feeling the heat.
In his position as academy manager, Mertesacker has excelled. Since accepting the position in 2018, he has seen the development of several up-and-coming players, including Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith-Rowe, Charlie Patino, Marcelo Flores, and many more.
Mertesacker, a legend at Arsenal after 221 games, may now leave and go back to Germany. Moreover, he probably felt the same way as every other German fan did about their performance. Potentially, that would be a temptation for him.

IF BIERHOFF IS FIRED, ARSENAL COULD LOSE MERTESACKER TO THE GERMAN FA
Arsenal’s recent success may be attributed to the trifecta of manager Mikel Arteta, sports director Edu, and defensive stalwart Per Mertesacker. Together, the three have facilitated timely hiring and advancement at Arsenal.
Likeable and well-suited to his present job at The Emirates, Mertesacker is a great choice. The departure of the former central defender would be devastating for the Gunners. They are just starting to find their footing again.
Mertesacker is tempted by the idea of serving as the de facto conductor of the German national team. As a player, he appeared in 104 games for his nation. Whether or not he is prepared to leave Arsenal at this time is uncertain.
Gabriel Jesus’ injury:
Because of a knee injury, he sustained during the 2022 World Cup, Jesus, a striker for Arsenal, will miss some time. Jesus has received some criticism for his knee injury. But Ronaldo, who has had his fair share of knee problems himself, has sent a message of support. He has asked Jesus to disregard the criticism.
Moreover, Jesus has begun his healing process and is working toward a speedy return to normalcy. Following his transfer from Manchester City in the summer, the striker has helped propel Arsenal to the top of the Premier League standings with five goals and six assists.
