Arsenal Newsnow: Arsenal are allegedly considering a summer deal for English winger Raheem Sterling from Chelsea
Arsenal Newsnow: Fichajes claims that Arsenal is planning a summer transfer for Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling. The 28-year-old forward signed with Chelsea in a move for about £47.5 million before the start of the current campaign. Unfortunately, his tenure at Stamford Bridge has been less than stellar thus far. He has just four league goals scored for the Blues.
After the arrival of the 22-year-old, Sterling will likely find himself at the bottom of the pecking order. Whether or not the England international wants to leave Stamford Bridge at the conclusion of the season remains a major question mark.
Arsenal Newsnow: What’s the matter?
In the meantime, Arsenal could use someone like Sterling to bolster their wide areas after losing out on Mudryk.
The Englishman has established himself in the Premier League. He has previously played for prominent teams such as Liverpool and Manchester City. He hopes that joining Mikel Arteta’s team would help him revive his career in the next campaign.
Sterling can play everywhere in the front three. So it will be intriguing to see whether the Gunners and their London rivals can come to an agreement on a cost. When selling the England international, Chelsea wants to recuperate as much as possible of their initial investment. And whether Arsenal is willing to pay that amount is still up in the air.
In the meanwhile, Chelsea is in a four-horse race for a playoff spot. They are not expected to approve any player exits this month. Despite this, Graham Potter will not want to reduce the strength of his roster. It remains to be seen whether Sterling can make a significant impact in the second half of the season and secure a spot in the starting lineup.
What’s next?
The Englishman has game-winning potential when on his game. But he must improve his consistency if he is to continue his career at Stamford Bridge. In the next transfer window, Arsenal will attempt to sign him.

The discussions between Arsenal and Brighton for the sale of winger Leandro Trossard have progressed to a late level despite the fact that the Gunners have disregarded the recently developed transfer strategy of sports directors Edu and Mikel Arteta. When being sent back to the drawing board last Saturday after Shakhtar Donetsk claimed an £88 million deal had been signed with Chelsea for Mykhaylo Mudryk, the Gunners had little choice but to think creatively.
