Arsenal Transfer News: According to reports, Barcelona has offered to compete with Arsenal for the services of Ivan Fresneda

Arsenal Transfer News: Fichajes reports that Premier League leaders Arsenal and La Liga heavyweights Barcelona are both interested in signing Real Valladolid star Ivan Fresneda during the next summer transfer window.

The 18-year-old played in the development system for many teams, including Real Madrid, before signing with Real Valladolid in 2020. After just a year in the club’s academy, he was demoted to the second string.

At the tender age of 17, Fresneda made his senior debut for the Spanish club in the Copa del Rey against Real Betis in the same year (2022). At the Jose Zorrilla, Fresneda was already making headlines as the first player under the age of 18 to practice with the first squad since Dani Vega in 2014.

Since then, he’s made 14 appearances for the Pucelanos’ first squad and has been courted by 30 different clubs. Barcelona, the current league leader, has shown an aptitude for spotting potential. They have entered the bidding for the teen’s services.

The Catalan giants are looking to add to their right side of defence in the next summer transfer window. The team only has Sergi Roberto, a right-back specialist, after selling Hector Bellerin to Sporting CP in January.

Will Barcelona get him?

Although Ronald Araujo and Jules Kounde are capable of playing there, they are more suited to playing centre-back. Also, Xavi Hernandez should take care to not misplace their positions while using them. Camp Nou is where Fresneda’s skill can flourish, as Barcelona is known for nurturing young players.

A rising force Arsenal, led by Mikel Arteta, is also serious about challenging Barca. The Gunners have a young team that has the potential to grow together in the next years. And I think Fresneda will fit in just fine.

If he were to come to the Emirates, though, he could have to settle for a bench berth at first. Takehiro Tomiyasu’s performance with the Gunners has been nothing short of spectacular. Ben White has done well in his absence. Moving to a new country also provides its own unique set of difficulties.

Ivan Fresneda Arsenal Barcelona

Barcelona is ready to make a move this summer in the hopes of luring the youngster away from Arsenal. Fresneda will have his choice of the available teams once the transfer market begins.

For the time being, he should remain in Spain, where he may work on his game in peace and quiet. Whether or whether the player’s past devotion to Real Madrid will prevent him from playing for Barcelona is an open question that the Gunners hope will be answered in the affirmative.
