Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly among the clubs interested in acquiring 20-year-old winger Piero Hincapie for €30 million
The Italian news site Calciomercato has stated that Piero Hincapie might be available for roughly €30 million. The Ecuadorian defender has been courted by many teams, including Arsenal and Tottenham. But his representative claims that the player has not received any formal offers.
The 20-year-old defender is a rock at the back for Ecuador, where he has started all 23 of his international matches. Returning to Europe, he has been a reliable performer for Bayer Leverkusen. They have locked him up until 2026.
The article states that the worth of Hincapie is somewhere between €25 million and €30 million. Considering the scope of his enthusiasm, the price tag makes sense. After a period of focused cultivation, Bayer Leverkusen is able to profitably mine and resell unpolished diamonds.

Will the Gunners get him?
Even though Bayer Leverkusen isn’t interested in selling right now, the club has received so much interest that it can’t afford to turn anybody away. If the coveted defensive player wanted by Arsenal and Tottenham can be had for €30 million, the two teams will form a line to make their offer.
Both Arsenal and Tottenham want to add a left-footed central defender to their rosters. Newcastle United’s Evan Ndicka is on their radar. Alessandro Bastoni and other players are also on Tottenham’s shortlist.
Antonio Conte still wants to renew his defensive system and needs to be more persuaded by existing choices, despite the fact that the Italian defender will prove a tough deal. Therefore, it is clear that Tottenham needs to acquire a new central defender in January. If Hincapie is available, he might be a great pick.
Arsenal is also quite interested in signing Hincapie. Though their defence has been superb this year, the Gunners are still looking to add a new left-footed central defender. Rob Holding seems out of place in Mikel Arteta’s style. So the only real problem is the lack of competition for Gabriel Magalhaes.
Hincapie is a promising young central defender. Any club would be lucky to have him, but his decision at age 20 is crucial. He knows that consistent playing time at Bayer Leverkusen is crucial for his development as a player, and that’s why he’s happy there.
