Arsenal’s offer for Yunus Musah was rejected by Valencia, who felt it was too low

FC Inter News reports that Valencia turned down an offer from Arsenal to sign Yunus Musah, a talented player from the Gunners’ youth program. After the USMNT player’s impressive performance at the World Cup, the Spanish club may have felt the offer was too low.

If any major club was unaware of Yunus Musah before the 2022 FIFA World Cup, he made his presence known in a resounding way. His effort in the group stage versus England was impressive enough to warrant a spot on the roster of a big club.

The Gunners’ board is under more scrutiny to make additions to the roster in the wake of the announcement of Gabriel Jesus’ injury. While Musah won’t be able to take Jesus’ position, he will provide Arsenal with more depth.

Musah is bound by an agreement that prevents him from being sued until 2026 and includes a release clause of €100 million. Los Che is realistic enough to recognize that such a sum is unrealistic in the present market.

Musah is versatile enough to play both the no. 6 and no. 8 positions in the midfield. This is exactly what Arsenal needs. The news of an offer to the USMNT international suggests that Mikel Arteta is serious about signing such a player in January.
