Arsenal is preparing a new offer for Mykhaylo Mudryk, 21-year-old after Shakhtar FC turned down their first price

TuttoMercatoWeb reports that Arsenal will make a second offer for Mykhaylo Mudryk in the near future. Shakhtar Donetsk turned down the Gunners’ first offer, but talks to reach a compromise will continue.

Shakhtar Donetsk has not budged from their original asking price of a hefty sum for Mykhaylo Mudryk. The Ukrainian club sees the 21-year-old as a once-in-a-generation talent. They have no intention of caving to the demands of the major teams that are interested in signing the winger.

The club has made it apparent that they want a price tag similar to what Manchester United spent for Antony. Mudryk has made no secret of his ambition to play for Arsenal. The Gunners are now in a pole position to sign him. The 21-year-old is Mikel Arteta’s first choice for a new wide attacker.

Arsenal reportedly made their first offer for Mudryk during the game against West Ham. The Gunners had offered €40 million plus incentives of €20 million, according to reputable journalists, and that was just the base salary. The winger then hinted at his choice by posting a photo of himself watching the game on Instagram.

Will Mykhaylo Mudryk move to the Emirates Stadium?

Arsenal’s approach was turned down by Shakhtar after the Ukrainian club openly sought more money. There was always the possibility that negotiations might continue, leading to a second offer in the days to come. Despite this, they maintain a premium pricing for Mudryk.

The Gunners aren’t going to offer anything close to what Shakhtar wants. The implication is that the Ukrainian team seeks increased base money. The latest offer from Arsenal is expected to be approximately €50 million including incentives.

The Gunners are understandably concerned about rising competition from other teams. Now that Arsenal and Mudryk have the same goal, things may finally start to turn in the club’s and Arteta’s favour in their pursuit of Mudryk. They are anticipating a resolution with Shakhtar in the near future.

Similarly to how Liverpool signed Gakpo, Arteta expects the transfer will be finalized quickly. As a result of all the publicity, Shakhtar will use the Mudryk interest as bargaining power to secure the best offer they can.

Carlo Nicoloni, an official at Shakhtar Donetsk, has said that the club wants as much money as Jack Grealish bought for his club if they decide to transfer Mykhaylo Mudryk to Arsenal.

Premier League leaders have already had an initial bid of roughly £55 million rejected for the Ukraine international who is Mikel Arteta’s main priority for the next January transfer window.

As negotiations continue, Arsenal is likely to make another offer. Mudryk gave an indication that he might be interested in joining the club by attending a game between Arsenal and West Ham.
