Who Is Stefan Ortega; The Goalkeeper Who Played The Crucial Pass For The Opening Goal For Manchester City Vs Manchester United In The FA Cup Final!?

Manchester City Reach Agreement With A New Summer Signing - CHECK OUT THE DETAILS

Who has scored the fastest goal in an FA Cup final? Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan scored the fastest goal in FA Cup final history on Saturday, netting just 13 seconds into the match against Manchester United. The goal broke the previous record of 25 seconds, set by Louis Saha for Everton against Chelsea in 2009. Gundogan’s goal was a stunning strike from outside the box, which flew past David de Dea.

It was a remarkable achievement for Gundogan, who has only been playing for City since June 2016. The German midfielder has quickly become a key part of Pep Guardiola’s team, and he has now scored 11 goals and 7 assists in all competitions this season.

Gundogan’s goal will be remembered as one of the most iconic moments in FA Cup final history. It was a moment of brilliance from a player who is quickly becoming one of the best midfielders in the world in the twilight of his career.

Reaction To The Opening Goal Scored By Ilkay Gundagon In The FA Cup Final!!

Gundogan’s goal got him widespread praise from fans and pundits alike. Former England striker Alan Shearer Tweeted: “What a goal from Gundogan! The fastest goal in FA Cup final history. What a start for City.”

Gundogan too was understandably delighted with his goal. He said: “I am so happy to have scored the fastest goal in FA Cup final history. It is a dream come true. Am proud of my team for the way we played today. We deserved to win.”

Now, the goal is amazing in itself. And the timing was even better!! But there is something that this short clip doesn’t give too much importance to. And that could be one of the main reasons why this goal actually happened!!

Who Is Stefan Ortega; The Goalkeeper That Played The Long-Ball To Start If All Off!!

30-year-old Stefan Ortega Moreno is a German professional, who was born in Hofgeismar, Germany. He plays for the Cityzens at present, but does not start. He was the second-choice goalie for Manchester City, behind Ederson and ahead of Scott Carson in the pecking order. Keeping that in mind, the former Arminia Bielefeld man did his job.

The goalkeeper has been at the club since 2022. Prior to that, he was in the Bundesliga. He has played for 3 senior clubs, prior to the Manchester-based side. Twice for Arminia Bielefeld and once for 1860 Munich in between. This was prior to moving to the Etihad.

He even managed to create the first chance of the game that resulted in the Gundagon goal. It was his ball that went over the top towards the Manchester City attackers. And they did not fail at making it count. This resulted in the opening goal of the game.

And from there, the newly crowned Premier League champs had all the momentum. They kept doing just enough to maintain their advantage in the game. And this helped Pep Guardiola and his team in lifting yet another Cup. It must have felt good for them to beat their domestic rivals (city rivals) in this game.

In hindsight, the Red Devils’ fans did not like the loss at Wembley. They must have hoped that their team would put up more of a fight. However, that was not really the case with Stefan Ortega doing his bit in helping his team win yet another trophy. As always, it was just enough to crown Manchester City the new FA Cup holders.
