“Yes, So We Are In A Position To Get Him”, Arsenal Is Now Se To Land The £96,000-PER-WEEK Super Star In January

Arsenal are reportedly the favourite to acquire Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Arsenal is reportedly in the driver’s seat to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, as reported by Corriere dello Sport. It remains to be seen whether they would try to acquire the Lazio midfielder this coming month or postpone their pursuit until the summer.

The 27-year-old is said to be available to leave the Serie A teams for around €40-50 million, a sum that Arsenal should be able to pay. However, it’s possible that the Gunners won’t be able to sign him until the summer.

Reports have surfaced that Milinkovic-Savic had previously rejected a transfer to Arsenal, despite the club’s current interest in acquiring his services. The progress they’ve made with their idea, though, has pleased him. He’s thinking about joining Mikel Arteta’s team.

Arsenal’s dearth of talent and depth in the centre of the field makes it no surprise that they are eager to sign the 27-year-old. Arteta needs additional choices in the middle of the field. Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey are the only two dependable players currently on the roster.

Will Arsenal get Sergej Milinkovic-Savic?

The Serb midfielder, who is 27 years old and now plays for Lazio, is one of the greatest box-to-box midfielders in Europe. A player of Milinkovic-Savic’s calibre would have a profound effect on the midfield for the north London side almost immediately.

The Swiss international Xhaka has been fantastic in an advanced position this season, and the addition of Milinkovic-Savic would offer him even more room to manoeuvre. The Serb will provide defensive protection, presence, and drive for Arteta’s midfield and might start alongside Partey for Arsenal. The 27-year-old can also score from the centre of the field.

What’s next?

The Gunners could have made a steal if they were able to sign him for the stated cost. Currently leading the Premier League standings, Arsenal has high expectations for the next season. There is no reason they can’t entice the best players in Serie A and beyond if they qualify for the Champions League and bring home a trophy this season.

Moreover, to anyone who hasn’t seen what the Serbian midfield wizard Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is accomplishing in Serie A, you’re missing out on one of Europe’s top players. Just looking at his numbers on Google will blow your mind. In 14 Serie A games, he has contributed three goals and seven assists from the midfield position. For what reasons, therefore, should you, as a Gunner, fret about Savic?
