“Arsenal Getting Him?”, Arsenal Battle With Chelsea For The €33M Signing

Arsenal Newsnow: "Arsenal Getting Him?", Arsenal Battle With Chelsea For The €33M Signing

Arsenal Newsnow: Arsenal, who now sit atop the Premier League, and Chelsea, who are lagging behind will compete for the services of right defender Ridle Baku, 25-year-old

Arsenal Newsnow: Both Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Ridle Baku, as reported by Christian Falk of CaughtOffside. The 25-year-old’s heroic efforts as of late have not gone unnoticed. He has been performing consistently. Many of Europe’s best teams would want to add him to their roster.

Representatives for both Premier League teams have been in touch with the player’s camp. Both teams need to add a right back to their roster this summer. And we will be treating the 25-year-old as our top transfer target this coming summer.

Baku’s soccer career began with the FSV Mainz 05 youth program. He worked his way through the ranks at the club and established himself as a key contributor before being sold to VfL Wolfsburg in October 2020. The 25-year-old’s career has subsequently flourished.

Arsenal Newsnow: What’s the matter?

Christian Falk said: “Ridle Baku of Wolfsburg got the call from Arsenal. The Gunners are interested in the German player who can play right-back and right-wing.

But they’re not alone in their interest, as Chelsea made a call themselves during the winter window. Villarreal also want to make a bid this summer.”

The 29 games that the German international has played this season have resulted in six goals or assists for his team. Several European teams have shown interest in signing him after seeing his play. Although he is under contract with the German club until the summer of 2025, he is likely to be transferred at the end of the season due to the high level of interest.

So far this season, Arsenal has been outstanding. They now sit atop the Premier League standings. Mikel Arteta has pointed out a few weak spots as they get ready to compete in the Champions League again next year.

What’s next for Ridle Baku

The Spanish coach is looking for a new right-back, ideally, one who can also contribute offensively. Baku is an ideal candidate because of his versatility; he can play both right defence and right flank. They’ll be a more dangerous offensive unit if he joins, and Bukayo Saka will appreciate the support.

However, the Gunners won’t have it easy, as the Blues are also interested in the 25-year-old. The Blues’ right flank of defence has struggled owing to Reece James’s recurrent ailments. Cesar Azpilicueta, who is nearing the end of his career, is their sole reliable backup.

That’s why they’re keen to ink a deal with Baku. But it won’t be a breeze to do. Before making a serious offer for the Bundesliga defender, they will need to clear some cap space by trading away certain players. It should be an exciting match between two of the best English clubs.
