Gary Neville Compares Kai Havertz With Roberto Firmino

The former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has made a connection between Roberto Firmino of Liverpool and Kai Havertz of Arsenal. Speaking on his podcast, Neville brought out the parallels between the two players, pointing out that Havertz’s play style is comparable to the Liverpool legend’s. Neville believes Havertz plays a similar role to what Firmino did for Liverpool while he was at Anfield. Both players, he said, have a propensity to drop deep, link up play, and be a goal threat while putting the needs of the team ahead of their own.

The former Manchester United player praised Firmino for his part in Liverpool‘s triumph. He pointed out that while forwards like Mane and Salah often got the most attention, Firmino’s ability to link midfield to attack was essential. With Havertz at Arsenal, he saw a similar trend developing where the German international has become an essential member of the squad. Havertz has impressed Arsenal since he arrived for £65 million with his flexibility and ability to impact games in ways other than scoring goals. He has shown to be a great asset for the North London team this season, scoring 13 goals and dishing out seven assists in all competition.

Gary Neville Compares Kai Havertz With Roberto Firmino

Firmino stands out for his special ability to function as a cross-front line creator and striker. Havertz seems to be going in the same direction at Arsenal. Though some were first dubious about his ability to score goals, the German international has won over detractors and become a vital member of Arsenal’s attack..

Havertz finds inspiration in Firmino’s achievements at Liverpool, which includes winning the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League. Havertz’s involvement will be crucial in deciding the Gunners’ success this season as they strive for the league championship and securing his position in the team’s history.

What did he say?

He said: “Havertz is doing a similar thing to the thing that Firmino did at Liverpool. A little bit where he drops in, he links the play, he is providing a goal threat, but he is subservient to the team.He will do whatever the team needs in a game. You remember for large parts of the season, there were large question marks over Kai Havertz, but he has become a really important figure. I used to think that Firmino was a wonderful player for Liverpool, and obviously Mane and Salah used to get sort of all the plaudits and the main credit, and that’s right, but I used to always mention Firmino because of the way he played, just connecting midfield into the attack, and Havertz is doing something similar.”

Kai Havertz has been playing nothing less than amazing lately. Arsenal has benefited greatly from his flexibility and inventiveness on the pitch. It has been essential to the squad that he can link up play and create scoring chances. He’s shown to be a vital asset this season with 13 goals and seven assists, despite early reservations about his goal-scoring prowess. Beyond just his numbers, Havertz has been a major factor in Arsenal’s quest for the league championship. He confirms his status as a vital member of the North London team and a fan favourite with every game.
