Arsenal Are Targeting The PSV Star

Arsenal is targeting PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko this summer. In need of a fresh right-winger to back Bukayo Saka, the Gunners have been searching. Among the possible targets have been names like Pedro Neto, Ferran Torres, and Raphinha. Michael Olise has lately also been a prominent choice.

Arsenal has yet to make any official actions despite these connections. Saka has thus had to bear the burden of participating in almost every Arsenal game for the last three years. Maybe, however, this summer. Arsenal seems prepared to contact Bakayoko directly shortly.

Arsenal Are Targeting The PSV Star

Het Belang van Limburg reports that Arsenal is keen in Bakayoko and may launch a serious offer in the next weeks. Bakayoko will not be easy to secure, however. Liverpool is also interested in the Belgian striker, which may lead to a bidding battle.

PSV has placed Bakayoko’s asking price at around £43m. Arsenal will therefore have to make a large investment to get their man. Bakayoko almost signed with Brentford the previous season; PSV allegedly accepted a price. Yet Bakayoko decided to remain in the Netherlands.

During 33 Eredivisie games, Bakayoko scored 12 goals and provided nine assists, having an outstanding season. By his efforts, PSV won the league championship. Any Premier League team would benefit from his dynamic playstyle and skill set. Quick, he sets up play well, scores from a distance, and gives his teammates opportunities.

Arsenal would have far more offensive alternatives if they could acquire the 21-year-old. By bringing Bakayoko on board, Saka may feel less under pressure and the team will have more depth. The Belgian international’s signing and the reinforcement of Arsenal’s front line will be revealed in the coming few weeks.

Arsenal is getting ready to chase Benjamin Sesko harder. Mikel Arteta seems to be aiming his attention at the youthful RB Leipzig forward. Arsenal has been searching for a new face to head their assault for some time. Over an experienced, well-known striker, they seem to prefer a fresh, bright prospect.

Worth around £55 million, Sesko has showed enormous promise. Reports from earlier times indicated a £43 million release clause, but it seems that amount has increased. With RB Leipzig in the latter part of the season, the Slovenian attacker left a lasting impact. Arsenal was drawn to him because of his play, particularly when he scored in a 2-2 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt when scouts were in the grandstand.

That was his eighth straight Bundesliga goal, which probably increased Arsenal’s interest. Sesko seems to be more interested in joining Arsenal than in other major teams like Manchester United and Chelsea. These teams have shown interest in the striker valued at £55 million as well.

Arsenal’s Champions League standing and Arteta’s initiative may have given them an advantage. Even if Chelsea and Manchester United are still looking for a striker, they could find it difficult to compete with Arsenal for Sesko. Arsenal is prepared now to go on with their chase, hoping to close the deal quickly. But they have to act quickly to prevent other competitors from resuming the race.
