Gabriel Martinelli Has Picked His Ballon d’Or Winner

Gabriel Martinelli Has Picked His Ballon d'Or Winner

For the 2024 Ballon d’Or, Gabriel Martinelli has backed his Brazil colleague Vinicius Jr. With 24 goals and 11 assists in all competitions in 2023–24 season, the Real Madrid player has been a revelation. Vinicius scored 21 goals in only the Champions League and La Liga, which were important to Real Madrid’s successful campaigns.

just Jude Bellingham has more direct goal involvements with Real Madrid than Vinicius, who is just 23 years old. While Vinicius scored 20 goals and 5 assists in La Liga, Bellingham scored 19 goals and 6 assists. Significantly, Vinicius scored the game-winning second goal in Real Madrid’s 2-0 Champions League final triumph against Borussia Dortmund.

The matter:

Vinicius is currently the top candidate for the 2024 Ballon d’Or after his incredible season. Along with other football titans like Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane, and Phil Foden, his primary rivals are teammates Bellingham and Toni Kroos.

As Vinicius captains Brazil in the Copa America, which is being played in the United States, he will have another chance to strengthen his Ballon d’Or credentials. Though his international record is still somewhat modest—three goals and five assists in 29 caps—he has showed promise. Two goals and five assists have been his contributions in his past thirteen Brazil games. He most recently assisted his new Real Madrid teammate Endrick in Brazil’s 3-2 victory against Mexico in Texas.

Forward Gabriel Martinelli of Arsenal praised Vinicius and recommended him for the coveted prize before that game. “Of course, it is a great pride to be playing with Vinicius,” said Martinelli, praising Vinicius’s skill and temperament. Experiencing daily life and realizing the unique and worthy young man he is. Being Brazilian and seeing Vini succeed makes me extremely pleased. He ought to take home the Ballon d’Or, in my view. It gives me great joy to share the field with him.

Gabriel Martinelli Has Picked His Ballon d’Or Winner

Should Vinicius take home the Ballon d’Or, he will become the first Brazilian winner since Kaka in 2007. Ronaldinho in 2005, Rivaldo in 1999, and Ronaldo in 1997 and 2002 are among the distinguished group of Brazilian football greats who have received the trophy.

Vinicius’s path to this point is a reflection of both his remarkable ascent through the Real Madrid levels and his expanding impact on the global scene. Fans love him, while defenders find him to be a nightmare because of his talent, tenacity, and consistency. His chances of winning the Ballon d’Or become more and more probable as he keeps doing well for both club and nation.

Gabriel Martinelli’s support of Vinicius Jr. for the Ballon d’Or, in short, emphasises the incredible season the young Brazilian has had. With his vital part in Real Madrid’s triumph and his developing exploits for Brazil, Vinicius is about to make football history. The next few months will be critical, but if he keeps up his present level of performance, he may very well add the much sought-after Ballon d’Or to his already impressive resume.
