The Full List Of Players Released By Arsenal

The roster of Arsenal will alter dramatically at the end of June since 19 players are expected to quit the team. Among them are the seasoned Mohamed Elneny and Cedric Soares. Both players, who have throughout the years given the squad their all, will be free agents and open to joining other teams.

The seasoned Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny moved to Arsenal in 2016 from Basel. He appeared in 161 games overall throughout his tenure with the Gunners. Elneny played only six games last season, despite his commitment and dedication. As Declan Rice and Thomas Partey took front stage in the midfield, Elneny’s chances diminished. Now thirty-one, he looks for a new challenge abroad.

Portuguese full-back Cedric Soares has also had trouble getting into games this season. 2020 saw him go from Southampton, and he has made 64 Arsenal appearances. Soares made just six appearances this season, same like Elneny. His goal in trying to restart his career is to acquire more regular playing time with another organization.

This reorganisation is part of manager Mikel Arteta and sports director Edu’s efforts to restructure the team. They are resolved to make big changes after failing to win the Premier League to Manchester City once again. Letting rid of a number of players is part of this to bring in new talent and enthusiasm.

Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, 22, is another noteworthy player who has not been given a new deal. This season, while on loan at Wrexham, he pleased many. Okonkwo expressed a range of emotions as he thought back on his time at Arsenal in a recent interview. Eight years old, he joined the team and spent fifteen years developing and learning inside the Arsenal ranks. His career is about to start a new phase.

The full list of players released includes Mauro Bandeira, Omari Benjamin, Luis Brown, Catalin Cirjan, Noah Cooper, Henry Davies, Ovie Ejeheri, Mohamed Elneny, Taylor Foran, Hubert Graczyk, James Hillson, Henry Jeffcott, Tyreece John-Jules, Alex Kirk, James Lannin-Sweet, Arthur Okonkwo, Kamarni Ryan, Cedric Soares, and Kido Taylor-Hart. Each of these players will now seek new opportunities as Arsenal moves forward with their plans to rejuvenate the squad.

Moreover, Arsenal looks to the future as these players go, wanting to assemble a squad that can contend for the championship. These 19 players’ release ushers in a new chapter for the Gunners. The way these adjustments affect the team’s performance in the next season will be eagerly watched by fans.
