This summer, Arsenal will target Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad. The Daily Briefing’s Charles Watts brought attention to this interest not long ago. After Euros, it will be fascinating to see whether Arsenal pursue a bid for Zubimendi, since Watts claims they have admiration for the player. It will be difficult, however, to lure him away from Real Sociedad. Even if Zubimendi is quite happy with his present club, Arsenal isn’t giving up hope just yet.
In a standout season for Real Sociedad, Zubimendi shown his midfield prowess time and time again. In 45 appearances in all competitions last season, the 25-year-old scored four goals and added one assist. Each game in La Liga, he averaged 1.6 tackles, 1.2 interceptions, and 1.7 clearances, demonstrating a respectable defensive performance. With an incredible 86.4% success rate, his passing accuracy was really remarkable.
Arsenal Are Still Hoping To Sign The World Class Midfielder From Laliga
The Spanish midfielder is a master at regaining possession with precise tackles and well-timed challenges. Not only is he a pinpoint passer, but he also has no problem clearing the ball when called upon. With his long-range shooting ability, Zubimendi can set up his teammates for goals. Even though he has good dribbling skills, he could take a while to adjust to the toughness and speed of the Premier League if he signs with Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta’s midfield would benefit from Zubimendi’s added tenacity and resolve if he were to join Arsenal. The squad’s prospects in the next years may improve dramatically if he is on board. Zubimendi is an exciting potential for Arsenal because, at 25, he has a lot of playing time left.
Finally, this transfer window, Arsenal need to give Zubimendi considerable consideration. He is a versatile player because of his strong defensive performance and offensive abilities. His skills would be a huge asset to Arsenal, and the club would be wise to sign him. Zubimendi has the potential to be the lynchpin that finally helps Arsenal achieve their future success.
