Arsenal Have Started Contract Talks With A World Class Signing

Arsenal: Mikel Arteta and Edu want to bolster Arsenal’s roster this summer, thus the club seems to be planning a busy summer. Over the last many years, the Gunners have become better. From never making it beyond the Premier League’s quarterfinals to perennial championship contenders, they’ve come a long way. To win the championship after a long absence (since 2004) is Arsenal’s goal for the next season.

Many prominent players have been linked to the Gunners in the last few weeks. They have taken notice of one of Europe’s most desirable defenders. For Arsenal supporters, Fabrizio Romano broke the news of a thrilling development. The player’s signing has sparked direct negotiations between the club and the player. Riccardo Calafiori of Bologna is the player in question. Arsenal is supposedly achieving remarkable results, as reported by Romano’s X account. “Arsenal have made direct contact with Bologna after Riccardo Calafiori’s green light to move and contract,” Romano said.

Clubs have been talking. The clubs are now in charge of deciding on Calafiori’s contract conditions. Chelsea has not made an offer so far, while Arsenal is presently leading. In the last several days, there has been favorable speculation around Arsenal and Calafiori. Gunners supporters are ecstatic about this new development.

Even though he’s just 22 years old, Romano has ranked the Italian left-footed defender as “one of the best” in the world. One of the best modern-day defenders is Calafiori. Last year, he made 30 appearances in Serie A and contributed to seven goals. As a result of his great play in defense, Bologna advanced to the Champions League.

Football Italia reports that Bologna has placed a valuation on him between €40 and €50 million, or £34 and £43 million. This isn’t a tonne of money for a young defender with his skill. No team can afford to be complacent, even if Arsenal’s defense was rock strong last season. They might strengthen their starting eleven and depth chart with the addition of Calafiori.

An exciting summer is in store for Arsenal supporters. The club’s plan to assemble a championship-caliber squad includes signing Calafiori, among other moves. As long as Arteta and Edu remain in charge, the Gunners should have a prosperous future.

More news:

After Bologna approved Arsenal’s revised bid of €50 million, the Gunners are drawing close to signing defender Riccardo Calafiori. Arsenal had their first offer for the 22-year-old player, which was €47 million, turned down earlier this week. Bologna insisted on a higher price in order to increase their profit margin. They intended to provoke Chelsea, who had shown interest in Calafiori as well, into a bidding battle.

According to Italian news site TuttoMercatoWeb, however, Bologna accepted Arsenal’s revised offer of €50 million and authorized the deal. According to reports, Calafiori is fully sold on Arsenal’s vision and offer. He could be joining the Gunners shortly.

With Bologna previous season, Calafiori made 33 appearances and scored twice, creating quite an impression. As a result of his performance, he will be representing Italy in Euro 2024. The versatility of Calafiori’s defense makes him a desirable addition to Arsenal’s roster. The team is trying to shore up their defense.
