Arsenal Improve Bid To Sign The 30 Year Old

Arsenal is ready to bring back former youth player Dan Bentley. They want him to be the backup goalkeeper for the next campaign. Mikel Arteta needs a dependable second-choice keeper, and Bentley—now employed at Wolves—fits the bill. Although Bentley turned down the initial offer from the Gunners, they want to come back with a higher offering. Arsenal needs a native goalkeeper to cover Aaron Ramsdale, who is seeking more playing time elsewhere. Last season, Ramsdale got little play; he made only 11 appearances after David Raya’s Brentford joining. Raya’s presence has sent Ramsdale down the pecking order and driven his want to depart.

Arsenal wants to have Bentley on hand as a backup and are getting ready for Ramsdale’s leaving. Bentley is known from his past with Arsenal’s junior levels. Though not cut back then, the club sees his potential today. Thanks to their past work together, Arsenal goalie coach Inaki Cana is fervent supporter of Bentley’s comeback.

Bentley appeals because of his familiarity with the club’s operations and his native player status. Teams in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League must have a certain count of homegrown players, so Bentley would assist Arsenal in reaching this target.

Wolves swiftly turned down Arsenal’s first bid for Bentley, £50,000. Bentley is highly valued by wolves, particularly given doubts about their first choice keeper, Jose Sa. Arsenal will have to up their bid if they want Bentley.

The club’s emphasis on locally produced talent is deliberate. Bentley’s comeback would meet a major team need and provide Arteta a dependable backup keeper. Arsenal is clearly intending to comply with league rules and improve their squad depth as they draft their fresh proposal. The next days will show if their better offer persuades Wolves to let go of Bentley.

Liverpool is looking at young SL Benfica prospect Joao Neves. The 19-year-old midfielder, who has rapidly become among the hottest talents in European football, is under preparation for an offer by the Reds. But owing to his release clause, SL Benfica has set Neves a hefty €120 million price. Paisley Gates’ reports from Correio do Manha imply Liverpool is resolved to sign Neves this summer. The Reds see him as a major asset to their team. The Portuguese player has previously been sought for by Chelsea and Manchester United, suggesting the growth in his worth. They have failed so as well.

Since January 2023 Joao Neves has had a major influence since joining SL Benfica’s first squad. Originally from Tavira, the midfielder has been with Benfica since 2016 and has scored four goals and given three assists for the team in 75 games. His performances have highlighted his potential even more as they have qualified Portugal’s team for UEFA Euro 2024. Given Benfica’s history of developing talent, the ascent of the young midfielder is not shocking. Recently, the club developed players like Darwin Nunez, Enzo Fernandez, and Antonio Silva, all of whom have gone on to make their mark in elite divisions all throughout Europe.
