Returning with another offer for Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah is Marseille. But this bid is going to be turned down. TEAMtalk knows that Nketiah would rather stay in London. Roberto De Zerbi wants to transform Marseille’s team to enable a significant recovery. Premier League players Mason Greenwood from Manchester United and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Tottenham Hotspur have already been recruited by the club. Marseille now sights Nketiah, but obtaining him from Arsenal still presents difficulties.
Arsenal Set To Reject Bid For Their Star Player
Arsenal is probably going to turn down Marseille’s enhanced offer even with its improvements. Reportedly about €20 million, the bid from the French club is less than Arsenal’s appraisal. Arsenal stays strong on their position even if Nketiah has agreed to personal terms with Marseille.
The 25-year-old striker has shown want to be part of De Zerbi’s team. Should the teams come to an agreement, he is prepared to dedicate five years to Marseille. Having signed a long-term contract with Arsenal in June 2022, Nketiah was almost free agency at that point.
According to Teamtalk’s transfer journalist Fraser Gillan, Nketiah agreed personal terms with Marseille but wishes to remain at Arsenal. Crystal Palace has also shown interest in Nketiah, which, should they make a bid, may be a more enticing choice for the striker.
Last season Nketiah made 37 Arsenal appearances and scored six goals. But he only participated in ten Premier League games and missed Arsenal’s final six league games as they battled Manchester City for the championship.
Nketiah started his senior England career as a substitute in a friendly against Australia in October last year. He is still eligible to represent Ghana as he has not yet participated in an England competitive game.
Nketiah’s circumstances at Arsenal mirror the difficulties outstanding players at elite teams must deal with. Marseille provides a new start and regular playing time, although remaining in London would fit his professional objectives more precisely. The interest of Crystal Palace might provide a compromise between Premier League knowledge and greater on-field chances. In the end, Nketiah’s choice will rely on his long-term goals and possibility for consistent playing.

With dreams of getting the gifted winger back to the Premier League this summer, Arsenal is intensifying its hunt of Bayern Munich sensation Leroy Sane. Already active in the transfer market, the Gunners have paid £42 million to get Italy international Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna.
For the remainder of the summer Arsenal’s shopping list calls for a center-midfielder, winger, and striker. They want to strengthen their team and fight Manchester City and others for the Premier League crown this season.
On the left wing, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard are alternatives; yet, the right side has been a source of worry. Lack of options meant that head coach Mikel Arteta mostly depended on Bukayo Saka from previous season. Arsenal is looking at possible acquisitions to handle this; Sane is one of the top contenders.
Arteta’s past Sane experience at Manchester City might be rather important for this quest. Now in his penultimate year of contract with Bayern Munich, Sane made 25 Bundesliga starts last season, scoring 10 goals and dishing out 13 assists in 42 total games across all divisions. Bayern Munich might think about selling him this summer in order to prevent losing him for free next year.
