Marseille Looking To Sign This Arsenal Player Soon

One of Ligue 1’s best teams, Marseille is apparently bidding for Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah. Football Insider claims that the French team regards Nketiah as a goal as they want to improve their attack for the next season.  Originally released from Chelsea, Nketiah joined Arsenal at sixteen and has made great progress since. Having been in Arsenal’s first team since 2019, he has scored 38 goals and played over 160 games. Though he has made contributions, he has never had a stable starting place; manager Mikel Arteta has favored Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz at number nine.

Nketiah had little playing time last season—less than 1,400 minutes on the field. Arsenal is aiming to acquire another elite striker, hence Nketiah’s prospects of consistent first-team involvement appear even less. This circumstances creates the possibility for a relocation. Marseille is eager to act knowing Nketiah’s contract situation still has three years remaining. Arsenal could be ready to negotiate a fair transfer price, they think. Although other Premier League teams have shown interest in Nketiah, Marseille seems to be the most driven. The club has started corresponding with Nketiah’s officials already.

Using Premier League talent will help Marseille’s new manager, Roberto De Zerbi, build his team. Originally drawn to Mason Greenwood of Manchester United, De Zerbi’s intentions changed when negotiations with Greenwood stagnated. Now Nketiah is a top target.  Although Nketiah doesn’t start often at Arsenal, he has always played well given chances. His capacity to have influence off the bench points to Marseille’s potential value. Reportedly ready with a formal offer, the French club is keen to acquire his talents.

Marseille wants to improve their offensive options, hence Nketiah’s possible move to France may help both sides. While Marseille would get a proven goal-scorer to support their team for the next season, the player would most certainly earn greater playing time.

Both Liverpool and Manchester City are focused in Charlie Setford, a gifted 20-year English goalkeeper now employed by Ajax. Setford is a wise long-term investment for the two Premier League behemoths, who also want to guarantee his availability this summer. Setford’s skills have amazed many and he has a good reputation all throughout Europe. He could start to show consistency in the Premier League. Both Liverpool and Manchester City can help him to grow into a top-notch goalkeeper from talent. For the young goalie, joining either team would be a fascinating chance.

The major issue is if Ajax will consent to leave Setford. Ajax is well-known for producing new stars, hence Setford is probably a major actor for their future. Keeping him might imply a larger transfer price down the road after he gets more experience and starts to establish himself. Liverpool badly needs a backup goalkeeper. Alisson Becker is still their top pick, but his backup right now, Caoimhin Kelleher, may go as he wants consistent playing time. Experienced goalie Adrian left Liverpool without alternatives this summer already. Setford might act as a viable substitute to guarantee the club is not left exposed.

Manchester City confronts another difficulty. Ederson Moraes, their first choice goalkeeper now, has a dubious long-term future. Introducing a fresh star like Setford might provide them a safe backup plan and a possible successor. Both teams have to negotiate the transfer landscape wisely. Ajax is not going to ask Setford an outrageous price, so the trade is financially possible. Given the reputation and prospects at both Liverpool and Manchester City, persuading Setford to go to the Premier League should not be difficult either.
