Latest Update On The Future Of This Manchester United Star, What Will Happen Now?

Tottenham

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo could be out of Jose Mourinho’s squad this winter transfer window as Turkish club Fenerbahce seem interested in signing up the outcast. Fenerbahce are currently struggling in the Super Lig as they languish is 15th place desperate for some quality additions in the January window to bolster their squad.

The Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho had fired warning shots even before the season begun stating that Manchester United was in for a difficult season with the lack of transfers that took place in the summer transfer window. The Portuguese manager had urged the board to sign new top-class defenders in the summer in order to build a team that could compete for trophies and titles.  Despite being linked to quite a few big names in the summer from the likes of Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane, Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti, AC Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli, Tottenham Hotspur’s Toby Alderweireld and even Bayern Munich duo of Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels, the Manchester United board failed to lure any of these superstars to Old Trafford. Manchester United’s vice-chairman Ed Woodward pulled the plug on signing any of these defenders due to the inflation in the transfer market and the high valued price of these players.

Due to this Manchester United are now in 10th place in the Premier League table and it has been a horrendous run of form for them so far, with the Red Devils winning just one game out of the last seven matches. United was even dumped out of the League Cup a few weeks ago, by Third Division club Derby County while humiliating defeats to West Ham United and Juventus have put Jose Mourinho’s job under immense pressure. The ‘Special One’ however, did manage to show a spirited display against Newcastle United in the 2nd half to come back from 2-0 down and win the game 3-2.

Even a strong performance against the high flying Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earned Mourinho a cruel point but if his side hung on longer, they may have had the beating of their rivals. Eric Baily, Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and even Marcus Rashford have come under the spotlight for having feuds with their manager Jose Mourinho but the 55-year-old boss is far more stubborn than most people think.

But instead of looking at other defenders at other clubs, Jose Mourinho could look at someone in his backyard in the form of Argentine superstar Marcos Rojo. The 28-year-old had reportedly been out injured after picking up a knock against France during the FIFA World Cup in Russia but returned to training on 15th September. Injuries have set back the experienced central defenders’ career but Rojo has revealed that he is keen to fight for his spot in Jose Mourinho’s side and is prepared to face tough obstacles. But Fenerbahce are still keen on bringing Rojo to Turkey and even Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers are wanted to sign Rojo in the summer but the 6 foot 2’ defender decided to stay at Old Trafford.
