Brazilian wonder kid Malcom came to the limelight after his eye-catching performances in Ligue 1 for former side Bordeaux. The 21-year old was sensational in the league and was linked with several clubs with Serie A heavyweights AS Roma leading the pack. The Brazilian was on the verge of donning the Roma shirt last summer but the whole transfer saga took a complete U-turn as Barcelona jumped in between and secured the services of the winger for a reported fee of €41m right from the jaws of the Italian club.
Although now the tables have turned as Malcom has failed to settle his feet in the huge club like Barcelona and may be on his way out very soon. Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham are eyeing a move for the Brazilian winger in the winter transfer window.
Malcom who caught the eye in Ligue he was known for his blistering pace and his ability to beat defenders at will. He also possesses an exceptional eye for goal and all this makes him a prized possession for the future. Despite being so talented the Brazilian have made only 2 appearances with the Catalans.
Even the club has revealed that they are ready to hear potential offers for the players, short-term loan deals are what the La Liga giants are expecting. Rumours also suggest that both Arsenal and Spurs have made contact with the club regarding this deal and it is been said that Barca are willing to sell Malcom permanently if they get an offer around £43m.
Arsenal are on the verge of losing Aaron Ramsey in this winter transfer window and Unai Emery feels that Malcom can fill the boots of the Welshman in the North London side. Whereas Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino was monitoring the winger for some time now and the tactician is an admirer of the Brazilian youngster and hence wants to launch a move for him during January window.
Malcom is definitely one of the brightest prospects in world football and Barcelona did manage to see that fact and leaving the Brazilian will not be right on both the parts and hence the club may leave the Brazilian only on loan as for his inability to get enough match time.
The 21-year old will be a great signing for both the Premier League clubs as they look forward to the business end of the league with lots of cup fixtures waiting and it will good for Malcom as he will get more game time and can improve on the areas he needs to and for that a loan deal seems on the card but only time will tell where the Brazilian wonderkid ends up after this January transfer window.
