Liverpool Star Makes This Remark Ahead Of Manchester City Clash

Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has warned his team that their trip to the Etihad this week may not be anything like last season’s game in the Champions League. It is crucial for Jurgen Klopp’s side to win this upcoming fixture, as they look to cement their position on the top of the Premier League table.

The Merseyside club are still undefeated in the top flight of English football this season and will want to showcase their dominance yet again, when they make the trip to face off against reigning champs Manchester City.

The Reds are unbeaten in their past four encounters with the Citizens and will want to keep going strongly. The two teams played out a goalless draw when they met in the reverse fixture at Anfield, earlier in the campaign.

Mahrez wasted a glorious opportunity to score for his team from the spot that would have given them all three points and the hosts will want to close the gap between them and the league leaders with a win. With the being said, Robertson made some recent comments about this crucial fixture between the two sides.

Speaking to the UK newspapers, he said, “The difference is that they obviously had to win by four goals that night and they only need to win by one on Thursday.”

“They are a fantastic team, a very experienced team and they have been in this position before. They have won the title. It is something that we have never had.”

“They will be looking to go full throttle into us. We will be wary of that but we need to be at our best. If we are, we can cause any team problems.”

After the 5-1 win against Arsenal at home, this will surely be one of the games of the season. Talking about it, he further added, “Of course it is a huge game. If we win then we’re 10 points clear of them and of course that’s huge. But also on the flip side they’ll be looking to close the gap to four points.”

“We play the way the game tells us to play. Arsenal were quite open and we took advantage of that.”

“They also took advantage of us being open for the first goal so we have to look at the goal [we conceded] because it was not good enough, but the way we played was attacking and we scored the goals.”

The game is surely going to be a high intensity between the two managers and the clubs, as it will have major implications with respect to the title race this season. The visitors will want to win the game and ensure that they do not end their undefeated streak, as they look to win their first title under the German manager.

On the other hand, Pep and their other Premier League rivals will be hoping that City can win this game and keep their title challenge alive, as Liverpool seem to be running away with the gold. It will be interesting to see how this game plans out and what happens next.
