Barcelona midfielder, Denis Suarez is sloe to complete a move to Premier League club, Arsenal after falling down the pecking order at the Camp Nou. Denis has only managed two matches for the Blaugrana this season and is frustrated with he amount of first-team football he is getting at Camp Nou at the moment. He is definitely on the search for more game time and it feels like Unai Emery’s Arsenal holds a high interest in the attacking midfielder.
Unai Emery really likes what Denis Suarez offers as the Spaniard played under him back in his days at Sevilla. However, Arsenal will need to come up with a bid near £14million to secure the services of the 24-year old midfielder.
It will be a breath of fresh air for Denis as well coming to the Premier League and it is understood that the Spaniard will be a direct replacement for Juventus bound midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
Juventus have emerged as favourites to sign the Welshman and the Bianconeri will look to complete the move in the January transfer window itself to avoid the ruckus in the summer when Ramsey will be available for free and the competition may increase for the Italian champions.
Denis Suarez has one international cap for the La Roja and enjoyed a stint in the Manchester City academy before he was sent back to Spain. He was with the Barcelona B side and had a loan stint to Sevilla before joining Villareal permanently. His impressive performances for the Yellow Submarines tempted Barcelona to exercise their buy-back clause as the 24-year old rejoined Camp Nou back in 2016 and since then he has not managed to cement his place in the Blaugrana starting lineup.
There are also other clubs in the race to sign the out of favour Spanish midfielder, as both AS Roma and AC Milan have kept close track of the 24-year old. However, with recent reports suggesting that the Gunners have pipped their competitors by going ahead and completing the deal and it will be announced in a few days.
It is believed that the 24-year old will sign a loan deal at first and then complete the move permanently to the North London club. Denis is an extremely versatile midfielder who can play on either flank and also right behind the forward as a number 10.
Unai Emery was pretty sure that the deal will go through as he hinted a move after Arsenal’s win over Blackpool in the FA Cup.
“At left or right wing, perhaps one player can help us in this position,” he said.
“We will only sign players who give us quality. He (Suarez) was playing as a left or right winger for Sevilla when he was with me.”
However, Denis Suarez answered Emery with his actions when brought on by Valverde Barcelona were 2-0 down against Levante in their Copa del Rey round of 16 first leg tie. Suarez played on the right as he went on marauding forward through the flank before going inside and outside of two defenders. The move came to end with the defender bringing him down for a spot-kick and Philippe Coutinho slotted the resultant penalty.
The move have surely answered any of his critics along with Unai Emery who feels he is only threatening on the left flank. Denis can be the ideal player needed by the Gunners and with his stunning versatility, he can be a great addition for Arsenal.
