According to the latest reports, Liverpool target Munas Dabbur could be on his way to join Premier League rival club Crystal Palace in the January transfer window. The Eagles are set to beat London outfit Fulham as well, in order to sign the Red Bull Salzburg hitman who is setting the Austrian Bundesliga on fire with his impressive performances this season. Klopp will try his best to get a deal done, though it will be up to the player where he feels he will get enough first team action.
Liverpool is currently sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with a stunning 60 points after 23 games in the campaign, winning 19 and scoring 54 goals in the process. Reds manager Jurgen Klopp will be content with his side’s phenomenal display so far as they are setting the pace for last season’s champions Manchester City who are currently seven points behind Liverpool with a game in hand. And although Liverpool is leading the title race, Klopp is well aware that his side cannot afford to drop any silly points as Manchester City can really cover up the gap. Last season, Guardiola’s English champions broke multiple records as they waltzed their way to the title and got a record 100 points in the process.
With Liverpool’s attacking front three slowly but surely hitting top gear at this crucial point of the season, any injury to Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino could be a big blow in terms of winning the League title. Therefore, Klopp still has his sights set on trying to bring in a top-class goalscorer to Anfield who can fill in the void for any misfortunes. Liverpool had a few targets and one of them was Israeli striker Munas Dabbur, who has been banging in those goals in the Austrian Bundesliga for Red Bull Salzburg.
Dabbur joined the Austrian powerhouse back in 2016 and helped the club to reach the semi-finals of the Europa League last season and was one of the driving forces for the team. The 26-year-old has already scored 20 goals across all competitions this season and his overall goalscoring record is an astonishing 55 goals in 110 appearances also notching up 21 assists along the way. He is certainly one of the most in-form strikers in the continent and that’s the main reason as to why Liverpool was so eager on luring him to Merseyside in order to make a final push for the title. But that move in January now seems unlikely as Crystal Palace are the favorites to sign Dabbur.
Roy Hodgson’s Eagles are currently in 14th place on the English table just three points behind the relegation zone. Palace is in dire need of a goalscorer who can take those opportunities in the attacking third. The 26-year-old Dabbur is well known for his instincts and being in the right place at the right time. Even London outfit Fulham is in the search for a star striker and Palace will face competition from Fulham and even La Liga duo of Valencia and Sevilla in order to bring him to Selhurst Park this winter.
