Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi who returned to Stamford Bridge after his Valencia loan was cut short due to bad form. The Belgian striker is wanted by several clubs on a loan deal but Chelsea have been rejecting deals after deals with their latest snub of Tottenham Hotspurs. Finally, the Belgian striker looks to end up in London and join Crystal Palace on loan.
The deal is set to go down the wire completely on the transfer deadline day as Chelsea looking to offload the 25-year old. Reports suggest that Batshuayi was offered to Tottenham Hostpurs after the AS Monaco deal collapsed earlier in this window. However the player was eager to join Mauricio Pochettino’s side but to his disappointment Spurs rejected the move as they are also in search of a striker with important players like Harry Kane and Dele Alli injured and out for various important fixtures.
It is also understood that Chelsea also does not want the Belgian striker to join their cross-town rivals and top four competitors with the history of bad blood among transfer dealings between the clubs.
Michy Batshuayi joined Chelsea from French Ligue 1 side Marseille back in 2016 and since then he has not been able to cement his place in the starting lineup and things got even worse when the Blues start to loan him out to different clubs starting with Borussia Dortmund where the 25-year scored a lot of goals and became a fan favourite in his short stay at the Signal Iduna Park. The following stint was in Spain for La Liga side Valencia but unfortunately the Belgian could not replicate the same form that he had at Dortmund scoring only once in 15 league appearances being only a mere shadow of himself. However, his poor run of form forced the Bats to terminate the loan deal and send him back to his parent club, Chelsea.
The Blues manager does not feel that the Belgian striker suits his style of play and which means he is on the move again on loan from Stamford Bridge. The Blues have been searching for a club for Batshuayi and in the process clubs like West Ham United and Spanish La Liga side Real Betis did agree personal terms with the player but did not hold any talks further because of his astronomical wages demand from the player.
With the player agreeing to move to Crystal Palace it will be a great move for Roy Hodgson’s side as they languish in the 15th position in the Premier League table. Batshuayi will look to regain his golden touch and help the side finish in a superior position at the end of the season. It will be interesting to see how Wilfred Zaha and Michy Batshuayi team up in the forward line and cause havoc for the opposition defenders. The 25-year old will also join compatriot and another forward Christian Benteke.
The 25-year old forward who once was a huge prospect in French Ligue 1 side Marseille have now fallen off the radar completely after several loan deals from Chelsea, Batshuayi will firmly believe to use this opportunity and eye permanent move and depart from Stamford Bridge. The 25-year old still has enough in his cylinders to reach his potential finally in these years.
