Chelsea star duo of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi has reportedly revealed some secret information about their club mates and some of these answers will surprise viewers. Some of these Chelsea stars may blush red as the answers are not expected but read on to know more about some of these Blues superstars.
Ever since Maurizio Sarri was appointed as head coach of Chelsea football club back in the summer of 2018, he has done a rather admirable job by succeeding fellow Italian compatriot Antonio Conte. The ex-Napoli master tactician earned plenty of praise and plaudits from fans and pundits all across the globe for bringing a brand of attractive and effective footballing style into the Premier League. Chelsea managed to make it through their Europa League Group Stage unscathed and also booked their spot in the Round of 16 in the European competition.
Chelsea also reached the League Cup finals but lost out to Manchester City on penalties. Despite the praise and comfort, Sarri was close to receiving the sack off late after humiliating league defeats against Bournemouth and Manchester City allowed the Blues to slip to 6th place on the Premier League table.
Even elimination from the FA Cup against fierce rivals Manchester United raised eyebrows on Sarri’s stubbornness to field key players out of position.
Despite Sarri turning World Cup winning holding midfielder N’golo Kante into a box to box midfielder for Chelsea, the 27-year-old has shown thorough professionalism on the pitch, but don’t let that innocent Kante smile fool you because according to his teammates he is the least punctual.
Soccer AM sat down with Chelsea young superstars Callum Hudson Odoi and Ruben Loftus Cheek in a rather hilarious interview and was asked who is the player that keeps getting fined the most in the team. Englishman Loftus Cheek stated that Kante’s positive demeanor always gives him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to bending the rules, “N’Golo!. He is not super late. Normally you get places earlier; he is usually one or two minutes late, or just on time! He comes in and smiles and everyone is like: ‘Yeah we forgive you’.”
Hudson-Odoi also stated that Kante is on the late list despite not a lot of people thinking in that manner. “Yeah, N’Golo! You would not expect it. He is always late! Always!” Although Kante may be late for training there are some Chelsea players who could be in line for management. David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta quite expectedly were the answers. When Loftus Cheek was asked which player could have a role as a coach someday after the on-field battle scars, he took the name of the Spanish veteran professional: “Azpi. Firstly, as a player, he is the most professional I have seen. The way he works hard in the games and off the pitch, looking after his body, and he plays every game and does not look tired. He’s a good captain, so I would say he will go on to be a manager.”
However, along with Azpilicueta, Hudson Odoi added that Brazilian defender David Luiz could be in contention for a managerial job one day, “I would say Azpi and David Luiz. He [Luiz] gives a lot of good advice. He knows what to do, and will probably go on to manage as well. He likes to help everybody, the manager, assistant, the players, letting them know how he feels or how the training or games are going.”
