According to the latest reports, Premier League giants Manchester United have no intention of signing Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale in the summer transfer window but are interested in bringing in Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford instead. The news has delighted Manchester United fans who were shockingly not keen to see Bale brought on by their club.
Manchester United have had quite a strange season this term as they currently sit in fifth place in the league table and are still in the hunt for a top-four berth. Their season began with Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho in charge of the club and he instilled a very defensive philosophy into the club. The pragmatic and passive approach to games was not something that the United faithful were used to watching from their team on a regular basis. A 3-1 humiliation at the hands of fierce rivals Liverpool was the final nail in the coffin for Mourinho and the club decided to part ways with 56-year-old.
With a stale atmosphere around Old Trafford, Manchester United turned towards a former face in the form of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to stabilize the ship at least until the end of the season. However, 46-year-old has exceeded expectations and has now been appointed the permanent manager of the club. Solskjaer has breathed fresh air and life into Manchester United as he helped United complete a dramatic comeback against Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain after overcoming a 2-0 deficit to win 3-1 at the Parc Des Princes and progress through to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
Solskjaer is also aware that he needs to re-enforce his squad if he wants to compete for silverware in the near future. The former United striker is keen to provide a platform for youngsters to take centre stage, which has been a trend and culture of Manchester United football club. Solskjaer has also stated that he wants to bolster his attacking department and United could sign some big names in the summer.
The Red Devils have constantly been linked with a move for Real Madrid star winger Gareth Bale over the past few seasons but those rumours have not really lifted off. The Welshman has won four Champions League titles since his move to the Santiago Bernabeu and was tipped to be the man who would fill in the boots for the departed Cristiano Ronaldo. The 28-year-old though has not had a very overwhelming campaign so far being hampered by injuries and Madrid fans have called for Bale to be sold in the summer.

Now, reports claim that Manchester United have no intention of bringing Bale back to the Premier League and instead have their sights set on Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho. The Englishman has been spectacular this season as he has netted eight goals and racked up 13 assists across all competitions this season. The red half of Manchester is currently preparing an £80m bid to sign Sancho in the summer transfer window. Only time will tell what happens here and it will be a transfer saga worth monitoring.
