Revealed: Arsenal’s Top Priority Is Signing This Star This Summer

According to the latest reports, Premier League outfit Arsenal are the most desperate and interested in signing Dalian Yifang midfield superstar Yannick Carrasco in the summer transfer window. There are other European suitors who are also keen on snapping up the talented winger after he has stated that he is looking for a way back to playing football on the European continent.

Unai Emery helped Arsenal to fifth place in the Premier League table this season and missed out on achieving a top-four spot in order to play in the Champions League. The Spanish boss arrived in the summer of 2018 and replaced the legendary Arsene Wenger at Arsenal. The 69-year-old Frenchman was in charge of Arsenal football club for 22 long seasons and he helped them achieve plenty of success during that period. Wenger has won the Premier League on three occasions and the FA Cup seven times, bringing Arsenal back to the top and competing once again. However, towards the final few years of his remaining tenure, his philosophy became outdated and Wenger was also outwitted by the younger generation of managers.

However, the 48-year-old Emery came in a breathed in fresh air into the club, notably taking them on a 22 game unbeaten run across all competitions. The Spaniard also took Arsenal to the finals of the Europa League but was humiliated 4-1 in the final by local London rivals Chelsea in Baku. There is reportedly a mass exodus which is taking place at Arsenal at the moment as they have confirmed seven or more players to leave the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners need some new faces and Emery needs to build a solid squad if he wants to compete for major honours in the near future with Arsenal.

One player that Emery has been heavily linked with signing in the summer is Belgian winger Yannick Carasco. The 25-year-old was tipped to join the Premier League outfit back in January 2018 but instead moved to the Far East to join Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang instead. Carrasco is quite obviously too good to be playing his football in China as he has scored seven goals and also assisted two more in nine games this season. And if he could provide those returns in the Premier League or any other top five leagues in Europe it would be a very beneficial option. However, the former Atletico Madrid man is keen on returning to a top club in Europe soon in order to stay close with his family.

Carrasco has already admitted that there is an offer on the table for him to return to the European continent and Arsenal are on red alert at the moment. The midfield star has also admitted that he does not regret his move to China but now wants a new challenge.

The Serie A trio of Inter Milan, AS Roma and even AC Milan are keeping close tabs on Carrasco’s situation, but Arsenal seem to be at the top of the pile. If the deal is done, it will be a huge boost for Unai Emery’s side.
