Breaking: Eden Hazard Signs For Real Madrid For £88m, But There’s A Catch

According to the latest reports, La Liga giants Real Madrid have officially struck a deal with Chelsea over the transfer of Belgian superstar Eden Hazard on Friday night and the winger will play his football in the Spanish capital next term if his medical goes through without an issue. Reports claim the Spanish side have splashed out £88m to land Hazard at the Santiago Bernabeu from West London but with add-ons that will rise to £130m. 28-year-old has signed a five-year deal with Real Madrid which will keep him at the club until 2024 with a £400,000 a weekly wage rate.

Maurizio Sarri has done quite an incredible job since taking charge of Chelsea football club back in the summer of 2018 and has done quite an impressive job by replacing fellow Italian compatriot Antonio Conte at the helm. The 60-year-old guided Chelsea to the final of the League Cup but lost out to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in a penalty shootout. Sarri then took Chelsea to a fourth-place finish guaranteeing Champions League football for next season. the Ex-Napoli master tactician also won his first trophy with the Blues on a continental level as Chelsea beat Arsenal in the final of the Europa League in Baku.

After the game, Eden Hazard has announced that he will be leaving the club with just one more year left on his current deal. Real Madrid have taken advantage of that situation and brought the play-maker to the Santiago Bernabeu. Soon after Real Madrid announced the news on their official website Premier League club Chelsea confirmed Hazard’s departure to Madrid on their official club website as a statement read, “Chelsea Football Club and Real Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of Eden Hazard to the Spanish Club, The move is subject to the 28-year-old completing a medical and signing his contract with Real.”

Hazard has been linked with joining Los Blancos for quite a long time, but a move never really materialized. Real Madrid will now finally announce a complete deal for Hazard and Jovic on Thursday when the transfer window opens up as they join Zinedine Zidane’s outfit for the next campaign.

Hazard joined Chelsea back in 2012 from French club Lille for a transfer fee of £32 million and has helped the English side win two Premier League titles, one League Cup, One FA Cup, and one Europa League as well. He scored 110 goals for Chelsea in 352 appearances, finishing as the ninth top goalscorer for the club.

Chelsea will be bitterly disappointed to lose such a gem of a player who scored 110 goals during his spell with the Blues and club director Marina Granovskaia opened up on the situation for Hazard and said, “Although it is with sadness we say goodbye to Eden and we made it absolutely clear to him the club wished him to stay, we respect the decision he has made to take on a new challenge in a different country and follow his childhood dream of playing for Real Madrid. The memories he leaves us with will not fade. He provided all who watched Chelsea play with great entertainment and many match-winning contributions, and for that, we thank Eden enormously. He has been a model professional throughout his time at the club, a wonderful individual to have around and a joy to work with. We look forward to welcoming him back to Stamford Bridge in the future.”

Well, it is good to see the Londoners improving and learning from their past mistakes when they messed up the Costa and Courtois situations. At that point of time, things could have been handled better with them and Conte and more, though the players did not help their case either. They were arrogant and stupid and really hit back hard as well, though it could have all been done peacefully.

However, one must look at the fact that if two players left the club in bitter taste, there must have been some mistake of the management too and it is good to see now that things have been rectified. Also, the money that Hazard deal is giving Chelsea, would have made them happy too. No one’s going to be complaining about that any-time soon!!
