The Injury Update For World Cup 2019- With the latest injury crisis that has Team England has suffered, it seems that there might be some serious bad news for them. Jason Roy and Eoin Morgan could be out of the World Cup tournament for good. That is if their injuries are found out to be severe. Roy, who is more severely injured at present, will undergo a medical scan. Only time will tell what fate has in-store for Morgan too.
The duo went off with a problem, during their team’s time on the pitch. They fielded against the West Indies. The game was dominated by the hosts. It was an easy win for them eventually. Joe Root scored a brilliant 100. However, these two injuries were the talking points of the match.
Though the situation was handled quite well in that game, where the opposition has just put up a low total of 212, it can hurt The Three Lions in the long-run for their title ambitions. Losing your opener and skipper at such a crucial point is always going to be tough on any team and that too at a World Cup 2019, would only mean more trouble.
Though Morgan’s injury does not seem to be too serious, Root’s is a different case. Hopefully, the home side can sort things out and make a strong comeback into the tournament with replacements that can fill the void that their potentially departing players may leave (if they can’t continue).
Mohammad Shahzad Controversy
In a recent story that has been creating a lot of buzz, it was confirmed that Mohammad Shahzad had recently suggested that he wasn’t injured and he was dropped form the Afghanistan side. Further, he was in tears when he heard this decision and had threatened to quit cricket, if they did not want him to play for the team.
Despite that, the skipper Gulbadin Naib recently suggested that the team won’t be distracted by this row. Shahzad played the first two games, but was removed from the squad after that due to his knee injury. However, this controversy is far from and over and could impact an already struggling Afghanistan side.
Shahzad Blessed With A Baby Boy
Despite the controversy, there is some good news for Shahzad as well. Recently, he was blessed with a baby boy. The exciting batsman played the first couple of games of the World Cup. He was then dropped by the team. He blamed the board for conspiring against him. The star will now want to focus on his family life, as his tournament is all but over (after being removed from the squad).
There is some foul play going around according to the wicket-keeper. He will have to take his time and resolve the issue. He made 0 and 7 in his first couple of games, though he is surely an exciting player and a match-winner.
However, what is the main reason for him to be dropped from the squad remains to be seen. The Afghanistan national side is already struggling. They have zero points from four games. The team has lost all of their matches emphatically so far.
Whether or not things will change for them, remains to be seen. Keep following Beyond The Posts for more updates.
