Arsenal Will Target Zaha Alternative, If Deal With Crystal Palace Fails

According to the latest reports, Premier League side Arsenal is looking to negotiate a deal to sign Bournemouth superstar Ryan Fraser in the summer transfer window after a failed attempt to lure Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace. The Gunners are in the mood to bolster their squad and Emery is planning on working wisely to ensure that the club makes steady progress over the summer.

The Transfer Stories Involving Arsenal; Which Player Will The Gunners Sign?

Unai Emery’s first season as manager of Arsenal football club was quite a mixed one as the Spaniard replaced the legendary Arsene Wenger at the helm. The 69-year-old Frenchman was in charge of Arsenal for 22 long years. He won several major honours with the North London firm including three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups during his reign.

Towards the final few seasons in his managerial career, Wenger wasn’t really able to adapt his philosophy. That was to the newer generation of managers and even the most ardent of Gooners fans wanted him out of the club because of the toxic fan base that he was creating.

Arsenal was in dire need of fresh air at the club. They appointed Unai Emery as the new boss. The Spaniard provided just what was desired. The Spanish manager implemented his philosophy into the club. Most of his summer signings hit the ground running. Emery also guided Arsenal on a 22-game unbeaten streak across all competitions. A top-four berth in the Premier League looked quite certain. That was until a stunning collapse towards the back end of the season.

The North London side finished in fifth place on the Premier League table and was not able to qualify for the Champions League. However, Arsenal had another chance of playing in the elite tournament as they reached the finals of the Europa League but were hammered by local London rivals Chelsea 4-1 in Baku indicating that there is plenty of work that needs to be done for the 48-year-old over the summer and beyond if Emery wants to win titles on a regular basis with Arsenal.

What Next For The North London Giants; Can They Sign More Stars?

The Arsenal boss now wants to add some firepower to his attacking unit. He will want to lure in a player who can operate on the flanks. Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha has been one of the most sought out players. The young winger has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal.

That is after stating that he used to support the club while growing up. Palace is demanding €80m for their prized asset. It is only about £40m more than Arsenal’s transfer war chest.

Therefore, Arsenal is looking at other possible options. They are eyeing a move for Cherries superstar Ryan Fraser in the summer. That is after the 25-year-old’s stunning season with Bournemouth. Fraser scored eight goals and notched up 15 assists across all competitions. That was last season for Eddie Howe’s side and is primarily utilized on the left flank. However, he can operate anywhere across the front line.

Fraser is entering the final year of his current contract with Bournemouth. Along with his flexible style of play and excellent work rate, the Scotsman could be a great asset for Arsenal.
