Chelsea Get A Major Boost Prior To The Start Of The New Season

The star German centre back of the Blues, Antonio Rudiger is on the verge of making a comeback in the field. The star German centre-back picked up an injury in his left ankle in the match against Manchester United in the Premier League previous season. The Blues had to play 5 important games after that including the Europa League final without the presence of Antonio Rudiger.

The German centre back is certainly an asset of his side throughout his career at Stamford Bridge. The fans also like him very much on and off the field. Recently, Antonio Rudiger posted a video in his Twitter handle about his comeback. The video also had the hashtag “Comeback Stronger”.

The star German defender had undergone a surgery in the meniscus of the left ankle joint. However, we can witness that he has started his own training to make a comeback quicker in the field. He has started running and stretching by his own. However, the club management of the Blues are monitoring the process of Rudiger’s comeback from injury very closely.

According to a close source of the Blues, it is confirmed that the manager of the Blues, Frank Lampard do not want to risk Antonio Rudiger from the very first match of the season. Frank Lampard wants to give time to Antonio Rudiger to make a proper comeback from the injury. It is clearly a good approach from the new manager of the Blues. Frank Lampard knows the importance the position of Antonio Rudiger in the side. The manager does not want him to pick up another injury in the quick recovery process.

The manager of the Blues, Frank Lampard has still not used N’Golo Kante in any of the pre season matches till date. The French central defensive midfielder picked up an injury just before the final of the Europa League. However, he played in the Final of the Europa League. The midfielder has still not recovered completely from that injury and Frank Lampard does not opt to take any risk with him. Kepa Arrizabalaga also had a slight niggle and that’s why he did not play any part in the match against Kawasaki Frontale on Friday.

Willian still has not joined the preseason training of the Blues and he is also having a hamstring injury. Frank Lampard will not take risk with any of his injured players at this moment. He knows that the options are quite limited in his hands. The Blues are currently serving a transfer ban for the next two summer transfer windows. So, if any of the injured players pick up a big injury at this moment, the balance of the squad will be destroyed completely.

So, we can assume that Antonio Rudiger is going to miss the season opener of Chelsea against the Red Devils at Old Trafford. The manager will give him ample amount of time to make a proper recovery from the injury and get accommodated into the new playing style of the Blues.
