Earlier in the week, a credible Twitter account, WrestleVotes were reporting that backstage creatives wanted Triple H to join team NXT at Survivor Series to give the “Yellow” brand a boost. It was mostly met with a negative reaction on social media. Fans didn’t want The Game to overshadow rising NXT stars on the match and Triple H seems to think that as well.
Hearing that over the past few weeks there has been a push from creative to have Triple H as a member of Team NXT in the men’s elimination match. That idea has been met w/ mixed reactions, including that of The Game. I’m told he does NOT want to be part of the match this Sunday.

During a media call yesterday, Triple H was asked if the idea of him joining Team NXT was thrown around in creative meetings. He quickly shut down the rumours by saying that he will absolutely not join the team. He added that he wants to give his talents as an opportunity to shine on the bigger stage.
His exact words were: “I have no interest in that. I have zero interest in that. As a matter of fact, if someone came down to me and said, ‘Hey, you should take that spot,’ I would fight that vigorously. I do not need to be a part of that. NXT is about youth. NXT is about the future. It is about the success of a new generation of stars. If ever there is a moment that you can add to that and help that get to another level, obviously, you want to do everything to help make it happen. But for me, at this moment, it is about others. I want them to shine on this stage. I want them to have this moment,” (Thanks to Fightful for Transcription)
Triple H believes that NXT is about the future and success of new talents and he will never steal the spotlight away from them. It makes sense because as much as Triple H is supporting the Yellow brand at Survivor Series, he has never actually wrestled a match there and is only involved as a creative head.
He went on to answer other questions at the media call. On the topic of Team Ciampa’s last member of the team, The Game commented that the final member will be revealed on the day of NXT TakeOver: WarGames. He also revealed that Mr. TakeOver, Johnny Gargano will return soon. He was supposed to fight Finn Balor but is gutted that he is missing out on potentially the biggest weekend for NXT’s roster. Talking about each top champions having separate matches on Sunday, Triple H said that they couldn’t move away from Brock and Rey and while there were talks of doing Universal Champion vs NXT champion internally, it wouldn’t make sense with the absence of WWE champion and The Fiend works better with his own storyline.
When asked about Global Expansion and Charlotte Flair’s recent visit to India, Triple said that the 10 times women champion loved her time in the country and cannot stop raving about her experience. He went on to thank the Indian fans for being amazing and said WWE is going to be coming to India in a bigger way. So, Indian WWE fans have something to look forward to.
