Nobody even in their wildest dream would have thought that Brock Lesnar, who is currently the WWE champion would take part in 2020’s Royal Rumble match that too from the #1 position. This is the reality now. The Beast along with his advocate Paul Heyman came to open last night’s Raw.
When it was first revealed on last week’s episode that Lesnar is going to be part of this week’s show, fans expected another quintessential Paul Heyman promo in which he would talk about how great his client Brock Lesnar is and how no one in the current roster is in his level.
It started that way, but Heyman took a sharp left turn when he announced that Lesnar is going to take part in this year’s Royal Rumble match. He said that The WWE Champion had hoped that he would be defending his title at the event, but since no one is is currently worthy of sharing the spotlight with The Beast, he will instead take part in the Rumble.
The Story About The WWE Title Match Involving Brock Lesnar And How Will These Stars Face-Off
WWE title would not be on the line, but it would be interesting to see where would Lesnar go from here. It was not made clear about what would happen if Lesnar indeed wins the match. Will he try to unify the WWE and Universal Championship by challenging The Fiend at WrestleMania? Will he take a night-off at the show of the shows? or would he face an opponent of his choice? What would happen to the wrestler if he would be able to eliminate Lesnar?
Fans who have been following WWE for a while now know that Lesnar is not exactly a hard-working man. He is someone who shows up on a WWE show once in a blue moon, looks scary, wrestles in a 5-minute match, collects his paycheck and goes home. So, for him to come in a Royal Rumble match as the #1 entrant is a huge deal. It will be interesting to see if he stays inside the ring throughout the match. Lesnar was last involved in a Royal Rumble match in 2017 in which he was eliminated by Goldberg.

In other news, WWE announced a couple of matches for next week’s Raw-
The rivalry between Randy Orton and AJ Styles has been brewing for weeks now. Both the superstars will finally come face to face next week on Raw in a singles match. On this week’s show, AJ Styles mocked Orton by winning his match against Akira Tozawa using Draping DDT and RKO and then striking Orton’s pose. Last week, The Viper faked a knee injury to hit Styles with an RKO. The duo last faced each other at last year’s WrestleMania in which the babyface Styles picked up the victory against the heel Orton. The roles are reversed now.
Also, announced for the show is a singles match between Rusev and Bobby Lashley. They have been feuding for Lana since September in a lacklustre storyline. On last night’s show, The Bulgarian Brute promised that he would return next week to fight Lashley. Liv Morgan would be in his corner, which doesn’t make any sense. That is as Morgan claimed that she is Rusev’s ex-wife’s lover (yes, this is a wrestling storyline).
Aleister Black is going to take on Buddy Murphy. This will be their third match of the trilogy. Black has won the previous two matches.
Brock Lesnar along with Paul Heyman will also be present on the show.
