WrestleMania 36 Update- Thursday’s Super ShowDown was the biggest WWE debacle in recent history after last year’s Hell in a Cell disaster. The show witnessed the murder of the biggest character that WWE has had in a long time just to book a 53-old man as the face of SmackDown. For some reason, the management decided to let Goldberg squash The Fiend in under 2 minutes to become the Universal champion.
Remember the time when fans were scared off The Fiend instead of for The Fiend. Yeah, me neither. Also just to be clear, one poorly executed Jackhammer is more perilous than 65 Curbstomp.
A day after that happened, WWE booked two matches on SmackDown for WrestleMania 36 to make the best out of their situation.
On the show, Roman Reigns came out to confront Goldberg and challenge him for the Universal Championship. WWE later made the match official for WrestleMania on their social media. As expected, Goldberg didn’t get a good response from the crowd, but he went on to do his business.

The only good thing coming out of it is that we will finally see Roman Reigns in the title picture after spending a year in the non-sensical mid-card feuds. And, hopefully, this also marks the end of Roman vs Baron Corbin feud.
Irrespective of the match quality, the match will definitely get a lot of attraction from casual fans as Goldberg was one of the biggest stars at the turn of the century and Roman is the biggest star of this generation. It will be an interesting set-up to see this generation vs generation clash and how they will build towards it. But, they didn’t need the title to generate excitement.
Along with Goldberg and Roman Reigns, former Universal Champion Bray Wyatt also got his WrestleMania match. John Cena made an appearance on SmackDown and gave a heartfelt speech about the fans and how the next generation (like The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, and Goldberg) is successfully carrying the company into the future. He then announced that he is bowing out of this year’s WrestleMania and that he won’t have any match on the show. However, as he was walking down the ramp, The Fiend appeared on the stage. He looked at Cena and pointed towards the WrestleMania sign to challenge Cena for a match at the show of the shows. Cena nodded and tipped his cap in response to accepting the challenge.
The match was later made official by WWE in an official statement.
At WrestleMania, it will be “you can’t see me” against the horror most Superstars hope you’ll never see. John Cena is set to return to The Showcase of the Immortals for what promises to be an incredible showdown against “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt.
The WWE Universe has witnessed Cena compete in a slew of classic WrestleMania matchups against some of the squared-circle’s most iconic Superstars, from The Undertaker to Triple H to Shawn Michaels to The Rock. But, just when it seemed as if the 16-time World Champion may have fought his final battle on The Grandest Stage of Them All, HE was there to pull him back in.
“The Fiend” Bray Wyatt emerged on the ramp and pointed to the WrestleMania sign, setting up the ultimate battle of good vs evil at The Show of Shows. Save a single loss to Goldberg at WWE Super ShowDown, the monstrous competitor has been virtually unstoppable against some of the best WWE has to offer. But does he have what it takes to take down the likes of John Cena?

The Fiend is trying his best to make the best out of this feud and later took to social media to explain why he is going behind John Cena instead of trying to get his belt back. The logic may be apt but the ideology looks too flawed. That is where the fun stops and the fans can see right through things.
Because it has to be where it all began. It’s a circle.

Little does he know that the company that he is working for only cares about money and not about building logical storylines or matches. Nostalgia sells tickets, but if WWE keeps insisting on having 50-year olds at the top then in 20 years’ time, they won’t have any nostalgia left to sell.
The idea behind this move for Wrestlemania 36 is to obviously bring Roman back to the top and Goldberg should be the one to drop the title. However, if he doesn’t, the fans would be rather shocked to see that happen. Let’s hope that the company knows what’s ‘BEST FOR BUSINESS’!!
