Three Reasons Why Chelsea Will Finish In The Top Four This Season

Chelsea are currently at the fourth position in the League table with 48 points in 29 matches so far. Manchester United are their main competitor for the top four spot this season. The Red Devils are just three points behind Chelsea with the same number of games remaining this season. Can Chelsea grab the Champions League spot next season? Here are the three reasons why Chelsea will finish in the top four this season-
1. Resurgence Of Chelsea Midfield:
The midfield of Chelsea have not been able to perform well at the middle of the season. There was a lack of communication between the midfielders and the defenders. The opponents were using that space and the Blues were not able to take the complete control of the midfield. However, recently things have changed quite a lot. Jorginho and N’Golo Kante- two top midfielders are out of the equation from this Chelsea side at this moment. In these circumstances, the youngsters have taken responsibility in their shoulders. Mason Mount, Billy Gilmour and Ross Barkley are playing really well at this moment. Mateo Kovacic is also in good form throughout the whole season.

The Croatian midfielder has certainly been the best player of the season for the Blues. Billy Gilmour, the 18-year-old youngster is getting the support of his manager, Frank Lampard. He is currently playing the role of Jorginho in the midfield. On the other hand, Mason Mount is being used as a professional annoyer. Mason Mount is continuously pressing the opponent. The young Chelsea midfielder has ended his 17 games goal-scoring drought in the previous match against Everton. Ross Barkley is finally getting more confident day by day. He is also in good form. Ruben Loftus Cheek is also very much close to returning in the field. He is training with the under 23 team at this moment.
2. Olivier Giroud Getting Back To Old Form:
The star centre forward of Chelsea, Olivier Giroud is getting back to old form. The experienced French centre forward have not got enough opportunities at the beginning of this season. Olivier Giroud has been playing the role of holding centre forward quite well at this moment. Chelsea players are trying to use the height of Olivier Giroud at the upfront of the field. Olivier Giroud is combining well with two wingers of the Blues, Willian and Pedro. So, the presence of Giroud in this Chelsea side will certainly give them the edge over other teams in the top four race.

3. Manchester United’s Form Against The Lower Sides:
The Red Devils have shown their class against the top sides in the League table. They have beaten Chelsea and Manchester City twice in this season. However, their performance against the lower sides of the League table has not been up to the mark. Chelsea have given them enough opportunities to surpass them in the League table. However, the Red Devils have failed to utilize those chances. Now, it might be a psychological pressure on Manchester United at the end of the season.
