India is under extended lockdown till May 17 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Cricketers are also locked in their houses, and they have nothing to do. The lockdown has given them time to interact with the fans in social media. Some of them are spreading awareness about COVID-19. On the other hand, some of them are going to live on Instagram with their teammates. Recently, Chennai Super Kings hosted Murali Vijay for one such session. They discussed a lot of things. There, Murali Vijay expressed his wish to go on a dinner date with Australian women cricketer Ellyse Perry.
Murali Vijay used to be a regular Test opener for India once. However, his form hit a dip, and that led to his exit from the team. He plays in the IPL for the Chennai Super Kings and was ready to feature in IPL 2020. However, the COVID-19 pandemic led to the indefinite postponement of the IPL.
Murali Vijay wanted to go on a dinner date with Ellyse Perry
During the live session, Murali Vijay had to face a question of picking two players with whom he would like to go on a dinner date. Vijay, to everyone’s surprise, picked the Australian Women cricketer Ellyse Perry and his Indian teammate Shikhar Dhawan. “Ellyse Perry. I want to have dinner with her. She is so beautiful. And Shikhar Dhawan any day. He is a fun guy. Just that he will speak Hindi and I will be conversing in Tamil,” Murali Vijay said on Instagram live.
Ellyse Perry has been one of the greatest ever cricketers to play the game. The Aussie has millions of fans all over the world. She is somewhat the face of Women cricket. Perry has now replied to Murali Vijay’s wish of going on a dinner date with her. The Australian allrounder expressed her sincere thanks for Murali Vijay’s wish. She even jokingly asked if Vijay would pay the bill.

Ellyse Perry had to endure a tough year. She missed out the ICC Women World T20 Final against India this year at the MCG. She suffered a hamstring injury in the group stages of the tournament. However, Australia did not miss her as they battered Team India in the finals to clinch the World T20 title.
Perry even said that the Australian Cricket Team will be the first to resume cricket. Australia may go for a Tour of New Zealand at the start of the summer if both the countries allow it to go forward.
“It might be the case that either the Aussie women’s team or Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) might be the first cricket to start up again. I think there is a lot of scope in that,” Perry was quoted as saying in the Australian Associated Press. Well, that’s great news then.
