Manchester City

Manchester City will face Arsenal on Tuesday as the Premier League is all set to return after a long break. City are currently situated at the second position in the League table with 57 points in 28 matches so far. Manchester City has almost no chance to win the Premier League this season. So, the main focus of Pep Guardiola’s side will be in the Champions League and FA Cup. Finishing at the top four in the Premier League should not be a problem for them as of now.

On the other hand, the Gunners are placed at the ninth position in the League table with 40 points in 28 matches so far. After their managerial change, Arsenal is certainly looking a better side altogether. The Gunners are eyeing for a top-four finish and the match against Manchester City will hold utmost importance for them.

After a long break, both sides will return on the field. It might be the best time for the Gunners to face a strong side like Manchester City. The manager of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has stated that it is almost impossible to get back to the same level within 3 weeks of preparation. On the other hand, the hectic schedule in the upcoming days will be a worrying cause for both managers. The new five substitutions rule might be beneficial for both managers in these circumstances.

City is clear favourites to win this contest because of their squad depth. The players have regained their fitness level. Pep Guardiola will certainly rotate his squad as much as possible throughout the rest of the season. On the other hand, Mikel Arteta also has many options on the front line.

Alexandre Lacazette might not start in this match as Edward Nketiah has shown his class in the recent practice match. So, Edward Nketiah is slightly ahead of Lacazette in terms of starting the match. Bukayo Saka is another good option available for Mikel Arteta. Arteta might use Saka in the second half to use his pace properly.

The match will also see a battle between two strikers- Sergio Aguero and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang. Both of them are capable of changing the course of the match at any time in favour of their team. They might also be regarded as the battle between two creative midfielders- Mesut Ozil and Kevin De Bruyne. Kevin De Bruyne is certainly having the edge over his competitor considering the current form.
