A lady was spotted engaging in the celebration of Royal Challenger Bangalore’s second win of IPL 2020 over the Mumbai Indians (MI). She was wearing the RCB jersey and passing her congratulations to the players. Everyone was surprised to see her in the RCB bench because the lady wasn’t seen before on the cricket field. Curious fans opted to search her on Google.
Who Was This Mystery RCB Supporter?
Google finally revealed her identity. She is Challenger’s massage therapist, Navnita Gautam. Navnita is a new member of RCB staff and only joined recently. RCB announced her appointment in October last year. This is her maiden stint in IPL. So, fans didn’t have a clue about her because she was doing her first job with an Indian domestic cricket franchise team. Before that, she worked on a global level with Toronto Nationals in the Global T20 Canada league and with the India women’s basketball team during the Asia Cup.
Navnita along with others celebrated RCB’s intense victory over Mumbai Indians at the Dubai International stadium. In a wonderful evening of two star-studded franchises went head to head producing a great spectacle. RCN and MI played out a second super over the finish of the tournament after the same thing happened between Delhi Capitals and KXIP game.
In this match that witnessed one of the greatest ever comebacks in the chase, Ishan Kishan and Kieron Pollard played out remarkable innings to be remembered for long. Mumbai looked down and out at 78-4 in 12th over chasing a total of 202. At that moment, everybody would have chalked them out but Pollard and Ishan Kishan proved nothing is impossible. Two cracking batsmen played breath-taking innings to take the match into Super Over. Both of them joined forces to put up 119 runs partnership off just 51 balls to stun RCB.
How The Game Ended For The Mumbai Indians (MI)?
Pollard scored an admirable 60 staying not out while Ishan just one run behind from scoring a century. However, Pollard’s heroics in the normal didn’t count because the Caribbean hitter just scored five of four balls in the Super Over as MI could only make seven runs. RCB picked up the victory with AB de Villers and Virat Kohli completing their task. Both didn’t stand out in their normal innings but had the last laugh.
After being put in to bat first, the Royal Challengers Banglore put up a battling score of 201. They were really good, losing just three wickets. Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal made 81 run partnership in just nine overs in a fascinating start to the opening winnings. MI did manage to come back for a little period when they managed to dismiss Finch and Kohli in quick succession but Padikkal and de Villiers and later Shivam Dube had other ideas.
Chasing the score, Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock followed by Suryakumar Yadav failed to get the start required. RCB bowlers were good in this period. Then that magnificent partnership between Pollard and Kishan occurred to level up everything in a stunning fashion. Their efforts didn’t get rewarded in the super over.
