The epic battle of words between Akash Chopra and Jimmy Neesham continues to build on Social Media. The two are going at it on Twitter and the fans are loving it. They have been firing shots at each other for quite some time now. This is about the fact that players tend to respond to criticism at times, more than they ideally should.
Well, that is just how things are. At least, it is some entertainment for the fans, in times when the pandemic has impacted almost everything. The fans are missing the live-action, though there they can watch it on their television sets and other devices.
However, the real action has been going on, on various Social Media platforms. A lot of controversies have surrounded the Indian Premier League already. IPL 2020 has been organized and is now being implemented, alongside a lot of problems.
The Reason For This Whole Online Rift Between Akash Chopra And Jimmy Neesham
According to Chopra, Neesham has been poor so far. He has not lived up to expectations for the Kings XI Punjab. Akash Chopra said that James Neesham is not a match-winner. This triggered the New Zealander.
A lot of fans and Pundits have been expecting more from him. Despite that, the New Zealand star has made it clear that he is just here for the money and will play whatever role is handed to him. There seemed no real enthusiasm in his tone (online posts) or passion when he talks about the IPL.
This is something that does not go well at times with the fans, especially the Indian ones. So, Neesham keeps getting the odd reaction from them, from time-to-time.
Here is a gist of original comment/conversation that started off the whole battle-

What Neesham Said Exactly On Twitter?
James Neesham is not a person to shy away from a good debate or when someone criticizes him. That was the same way that he responded once again. Here is what he said in response to Akash Chopra’s original comment.
Averaging 18.5 striking at 90 doesn’t win many matches either ???? https://t.co/qNmotRL0WT

Akash Chopra Has The Final Say; Great Response
Akash Chopra was once again witty in reverting back to the cricketer. He focused on the fact as to why he was not being picked in the IPL. Also, he talked about what his new role was due to the same reason.
His latest comment on Twitter read as,
Correct my friend. That’s why nobody picks me anymore. I get paid for doing something else ?? I’m glad that you don’t have an issue with my observations but with my cricket stats. Go well for the rest of the #IPL. https://t.co/FFuYAyFtMZ

Well, a good response from the commentator cum writer. Akash Chopra was mainly a Test-match player and the T20 format wasn’t really his thing. One can even argue that he might have been one of the slowest batsmen in the IPL. However, that is a debate that we can leave for another day.
