Delhi Capitals Tease RCB Skipper Virat Kohli For On-Field Error That Goes Viral

Another incident that was highlighted by Social Media and in particular the Delhi Capitals account was caught on camera. It was in their game against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. Skipper Virat Kohli was caught on camera trying to do something, which is not legal anymore.

The incident happened while the side from the Indian capital were batting. RCB was fielding at that point of time and Virat Kohli lost track for a few seconds. Only to remember that he was not supposed to be doing this.

Why Could This Have Been A Problem For Virat Kohli?

So, the new rules suggest that a fielder or bowler is not supposed to apply spit on the ball. This applies to all teams playing any form of cricket. It is the new rule instilled post the pandemic, though at times players tend to forget.

They have been playing cricket for years and old habits are hard to be changed. Despite that, Kohli was quick to correct himself and make the right gesture. It was an apologetic one and things were not escalated too much.

What Did The Delhi Capitals’ Social Media Team Tweet?

Despite Kohli correcting his error, he was caught on live television. With that being said, the Delhi Capitals’ Social Media team had other ideas. They decided to have some fun at the opposition skipper’s expense.

Here is the Tweet that they sent out-

The DC Social Media handle is quite active. Despite that, they have never been shy about making a statement. They did previously troll the Kings XI Punjab after the win that their team secured, earlier in the tournament. This was just another instance of doing the same.

However, it is totally justified with the way that their team is currently playing. They are in top form and looking very good.

With Ashwin and Rahane's arrival, is Shreyas Iyer's Delhi Capitals captaincy in danger?

Are DC Real Contenders This Time?

It seems that the Delhi Capitals could be real contenders for the IPL 2020 tournament this year. They have a well-balanced side and are playing well too. Their top order is in form and in this particular game, everyone contributed with the bat. However, we all know how they love to mess things up when it matters.

To add to that, they have a young side that is good in the field as well. Shreyas Iyer is a young-talent as well and he is leading them quite well. Their overall blend of young and experience makes them a major threat to any side.

Only time will tell whether they can maintain their top form or not. Consistency has been a major problem for this team from the capital. Let’s hope that they can change that in the current tournament. It will be interesting to see how they play, considering the fact that this is going to be a long tournament. We wish the Delhi Capitals the very best for the remaining season!!
