Another rumoured link-up between Bollywood and cricket is back in the news now. Apparently, Suresh Raina and Anushka Sharma were reportedly dating in 2012. That was before Anushka Sharma met Virat Kohli in the shooting of a T.V commercial. According to media reports, the two first met in London where Raina was on the England tour with the Indian team. Anushka on the other hand was shooting for her next film. Since then, they had remained in touch.
However, the actress who had then just broken up with Ranveer Singh, claims these rumours to be completely baseless and irrelevant. Suresh Raina agrees to have met Anushka in London but that was it. Nothing went beyond that.

“I heard about this and I was completely zapped! I had met Anushka in London, where she had come to watch the matches. But, I don’t even know the girl! I don’t know how these stories started.”
He then went on to explain why he would never date a film star. He said, “I can tell you very confidently that I will never marry a filmi gal. Ours is a middle-class family, so I will go for a gharelu girl, who understands me and gels well with my family too. Hum cricketers ki life mein dukh zyada hai, khushi kum. So, my future wife will have to be intelligent, supportive and a true soulmate to be with me during the ups and downs of life and career!”. Thus, Suresh Raina pretty much shut these rumours by being outspoken. Although Raina has never really discussed his personal life, he was earlier said to be close to Aviation Minister Praful Patel’s daughter Poorna, who worked as the IPL Hospitality Manager.
Apparently, Anushka’s only connection to cricket dates back to watching the World Cup final last year. That is with regards to her friendship with Sakshi Rawat, MS Dhoni’s wife. There is no more to it than that, though the media really loves talking about her. The reason for that is the fact that she reacts to the stories a lot.
